The Brave App

A CBC Article directed me to Brave and I’m so happy to find this harm reduction resource. If you’re ever using outside of a safe use site please use this app. We recently lost a family member who was using cocaine with a friend at home. Impaired and in fear of repercussions it took 45 minutes to make the decision to call for help. With less stigma and a focus on harm reduction 3 kids, our family, and the community could be in a better place now.

an incredible private way to prevent overdose. what sets it apart from others is that no info is revealed to the volunteers unless there is an emergency.

I’ve never reviewed an app before but this app has done a lot for me, Ive never used it personally but my girlfriend used to use it when she was unsupervised and it helped my anxiety a lot because she was a fentanyl user which can be very scary alone. it did a lot for me and I wasn’t even the one with the app, I think it’s a must have thing for anyone using because as someone that has had multiple overdose deaths in my family it’s not fair to leave everyone else alone picking up the pieces, the creator of this concept is a smart and amazing person i feel like a lot of users feel neglected and abandoned which makes them stem away from help and I don’t think that’s fair at all and this is a judgement free safe place to get help at least temporarily. i also think it’s amazing that it’s free as real humans need to be available for this to work which is a hard process to manage so, thank you Brave for taking a lot of weight off my shoulders it’s really hard to explain how much more IMPORTANT and impactful this app is and I feel like more people especially addicts should know about it, maybe try to advertise through drug related facilities like the OPS?

This app puts tools in the hands of everyday people who want another option for harm reduction and safer use, and to give every day people a way to volunteer in the fight against the overdose crisis. Love Brave, love the team there, love the people that use it!

Although remote overdose monitoring is not new, what makes this app unique is the features within. The rapid SOS and emergency plans are key tools in responding quickly and efficiently to an emergency situation all with the guarantee of anonymity for both the callers AND supporters. Technology is being put to amazing use with Brave! 10/10 recommended for anyone, anywhere
