Description
the Clave is a clave pattern metronome/click track app with five selectable clave patterns: Son, Rumba, two different Afro (6/8) styles and Bossa Nova.
The current pattern is shown on-screen in traditional notation, with each beat highlighted as it is played.
Patterns can be switched between 3:2 (forward) and 2:3 (reverse) clave.
Tempo is variable from 40 to 200 beats per minute (in cut time), and the timing is rock-solid: accurate to the nearest sample (22 microseconds).
Drag the tempo button up or down to choose a tempo in BPM.
Tap the tempo button in time with the beat to set a tempo rhythmically.
Playback continues in the background, so you can lock your screen and keep on playing.
You can alter the sound, there are high and low pitches and a volume boost option.
It's a useful practice aid, whether you are beginning to play Latin American music, or an experienced sonero. It can also be used to help inject new vibrance into other styles of music - for example, try playing a jig with the Afro (6/8) clave playing!

I’ve been using this religiously for the past few weeeks but suddenly it has stopped working and crashes every time I open it

Simple but perfect!!!
This app is everything to me. You can switch from 2/3 or 3/2 clave as well as having control over the bpm. There are 4 clave patterns on there but it shows you the notation as it goes which is super helpful for a beginner. There are no ads so i can practice forever without getting disrupted by an obnoxious ad. Truly great app, Bravo. Thank you!
I Live this app, but...
I love this app and wish I could give it five stars. But I recently started noticing the battery on my iPhone 8 draining much more quickly than usual. When checking battery usage in settings I discovered that the Clave app was for some reason using 51% of my battery! I only used it 15 or 20 minutes at a time for a couple of days. Something appears to be running in the background that’s causing a problem. I wanted to contact the developer before writing this review but could not find any way to do that, in part because his website seems to have disappeared.
Need 6/8 bell and Afrobeat clave
I like this app but would love it if the 6/8 bell pattern and Afrobeat clave were added for even more options!
