The Freezer Reviews

Too gross for me

Writing this review to remind myself not to buy any more of these. They aren’t bad games but they are too gross for me.

Glitches

Aja🥱 on

United States

It took this game about two minutes to glitch out and completely stop working. There were a few minor glitches at first and then the whole screen went black. No matter what I did, this kept happening. I’m very upset I paid money for a game I will never get to play.

This game was created by a psychopath!

Not happy with this game at all you have glitches. Do you have puzzles that are impossible to solve because you don’t provide the necessary equipment or tools. I would like my money back. I can’t get any further because you never gave me the broken umbrella behind the bench

Fun

Great game. I had to use a walk through on YouTube to complete it, but it was still a fun escape room.

Great Sequel To Hotel Orpheus

Fiscisgsnciagdkichskd on

Not only a sequel, but a great standalone game even for those unfamiliar with the series. Greatly improved upon the gameplay of the first game, I can gladly say that this took me a few hours to get through, between finding all the hidden objects and the puzzles. One very minor complaint would be the lack of a fast-travel map, which wasn't needed in the first game, but the absence of which makes this game a little tedious near the end. Still, the artwork, atmosphere, and story were more than enough for a game of this genre, and I can't wait to see what the creators come out with next!

Good game in fun creepy series

This is a fun, creepy game in the Hotel Orpheus series. There are a lot of interesting rooms and locations to explore and I like that there is a lot of stuff that you can interact with. The hint system is really well done where it first gives you a lot of small nudges toward the solution instead of just giving you the answer right away. You also get to choose what puzzles you want help with so it doesn’t just spoil the challenge. One thing I didn’t like was that it felt kind of linear where one puzzle led to the next which led to the next etc which is frustrating if you’re stuck on a certain puzzle. It was also a little bit short, but it is currently free so I’m not complaining too much. Over all fun game with good challenges and cool, creepy atmosphere. I look forward to the next game from this dev.

Great puzzles, ambience, and storyline

If you like puzzle games with a creepy atmosphere, this ticks all the boxes. The game difficulty is a little above average, but the hint system is easy to access if you need it. (Hints are gentle nudges in the right direction— you still have to figure things out.) There’s a “skip” function on a few time-consuming puzzles. It came in handy on the shifting tiles in the sewer. The Alley and Kitchen areas are both full of fun items. Discovering everything was a blast. Be careful with navigation. It’s tricky because sometimes hitting the back arrow backs you up, and sometimes it turns you 180 degrees. I feel like there should be more consistency on that. Personally, I’d like a map function so I could gauge how far I was from the spot I needed to be. I enjoyed the heck out of this game. (It should be noted, however, that nearly no gameplay takes place in the freezer.)

Excellent with a caveat

This is one of the better escape games I’ve found. We’ll done, with useful help. My biggest problem with it is that there is a lot of tedious traveling back and forth between locations. I would have preferred it if once you find a location, you can choose between locations instantly instead of having to retrace your step.

Frustrating

Jamcat1190 on

United States

I really enjoyed the other two games, but I’m having a hard time getting into this one. It’s much more difficult and I’m stuck and unable to progress any further. The hints don’t help when they tell you things like smash the clock with a rock, but don’t tell you how to get the rock. I see rocks (I think) in the garage, but nothing happens when I click on them. I gave up and deleted the game.
