The Great Tournament Reviews

It’s great

I finished it first try and got 7 achievements. There a couple of typos in there but It’s still the best text game thing I have ever played. I heard that there is a sequel to this game and that makes me happy :)

Though there are some errors like typos and whatnot but this is still easily one of my favorite text-games or whatever you call them. I really enjoyed the escort part and the intellectual test at Veritas. I absolutely loved Sir Robert’s character and how he’s so laid back even though he’s literally at the verge of death. And lastly, the Cuthvels are pricks.

Great Story, Great gameplay

I found the story quite to my favorite environment. I still couldn't believe that I could be king from just being a stable boy in just my second try. Oh yeah it was on easy mode I forgot.... but meh, it made me play for more than 7 hours straight, getting immersed too much I forgot to prepare for the finals exam.

One of the best if not the best role playing book/game.

Wow! I didn't expect it would be this good. This game is one that lets you use your imagination of being a humble peasant boy rising to power. It was emotional in some parts and empowering as well. I am sad tho it is finished and i only wish to have a sequel. Im still taken aback writing this and am overwhelmed by how the story is written. Though a grammar and spelling check would make this better, other than that it is perfect. Well done!

Great Story

This is such a great and long story. It's the best of its kind that I have ever been able to play fully.

Great Story Horrible UI

The repetitiveness and unintuitive nature of the selection boxes meant that several times throughout the game k selected options I did not mean to. More specific examples below with spoilers SPOILERS During the section you are traveling around several times I traveled to a location by accident because I was trying to see how long it would take to travel to another place and never mind was not the default option. In my opinion the never mind or no consequences action should be the default. Then I ended the game on accident. The I’m in the middle of the tournament and asked if I want to quit or continue and the FIRST OPTION WAS QUIT! I selected next quickly by accident and that was it end of my whole game just like that. I know they don’t want people going back but you should be able to go back a slide or two max. I might just be bad but I found myself messing up options enough that it was annoying and now I am incredibly unsatisfied with the ending I got. And there is no way for me to go back through the story the same way again.

Beautiful story and consistent gameplay
