Looks like the app will be good but as someone without children, it doesn’t accept “None” as an answer for How Many Children do you have? Just something to be mindful of as not everyone using this app has children and there is no way of it accepting this answer without choosing to “skip this section”. I know it is called the Organised Mum but for its apparently for anyone trying to get organised.
For me - life changing!
I can honestly say this app has changed my life . I know that sounds extreme, but I truly mean it! I’ve followed Gemma for years, printing off her Team Tomm “bootcamps” never quite finishing anything or completing the weeks “to do’s” even though they are very doable for most people. I discovered the app and the “keep my company section” this is when things changed for me. Gemma motivates me to get things done and within a time frame - I’m a procrastinator (and recently have been diagnosed with adhd) every time I am feeling unmotivated and overwhelmed, I click the “keep me company” and set to the task. I hadn’t realised that neurodivergent people benefit from something called “body doubling” when someone is around to be accountable to. Gemma is my accountability partner (this will be news to her)! But she is! Like I say, it has changed my life and therefore the people around me’s lives too! Thank you Team Tomm - I’ll be forever grateful ☺️ 💛 Meg
App not working
I love this app but last few weeks every time I click on something to tick off it tells me something went wrong + I can’t get into boot camp or any of the other things on app
Looking forward to future updates
This app will be really useful. There are a few features I would like to see in future such as seeing when a task was last completed or being able to add a note against the task (for example if it was partly completed). An option to skip a task would be good too for example if you don’t need to do a load of laundry every day. I like being able to customise the lists for my home.
Update Oct 24. Love the TOM Rocks sessions. Could not work, clean or put away groceries without them. Customer Support is great.
Notifications please
I love this app however one thing I struggle with is there isn’t any notifications. That’s one of the reasons I got this app, to have that nudge. I’ve checked my settings, as someone that needs reminding it’s annoying as then it’s days until I remember to log in.
Don’t get a cleaner - Get Gemma!
Thank you Gemma so much for putting together this life changing resource!
I can struggle to focus and keep on top of all the jobs a busy house and family bring but this app and your books that came before it have revolutionised my schedule! And the “good enough is good enough” mantra ensures I don’t get stuck in the detail and am constantly keeping one step ahead!
I recommend this app to everyone! I fail to think of anyone who wouldn’t benefit from a personal trainer for housework!
Loving the ‘Rock the housework’ element to the app!
I was a long term follower of TOMM before I got the app and to be honest wanted it for the 7 day free trial of ‘Rock the House Work’ the guided cleaning element. Once I’d
had time to explore what it had to offer over the course of the week I was hooked. Now I’ve had it a while I can really recommend it ! It costs £3.59 a month ( in addition to the one off app cost) for this extra feature with unlimited access to the guided clean vault. Gemma is dedicated to dropping new cleans regularly each week which is great.
I can be prone to the ups and downs of managing a house alongside working and bringing up a family. Gemma’s approach is both realistic and attainable and I can see not only a difference in our home but also my mindset toward the housework . Every room is covered and there are also keep me company sessions too, which are scattered with top tips and Gem’s ‘you can do it ‘ enthusiasm.
The app element of tracking the housework is great for those who love classic TOMMIng. The money I would spend on a monthly magazine is well worth the investment in the app. I would never be able to afford a cleaner but this is a step above in my opinion as I have my own ‘personal trainer for housework ‘ now and also get my husband listening in ! Thanks Gemma is a game changer!
Life changing
Every now and then you stumble across a legitimately life changing app; Elevate, Headspace, The Wonder Years etc. Whole heartily ‘The Organised Mum’ app with the guided cleans blows them out the water. The other apps I mentioned enabled me to go about life easier or helped with a particular aspect in some way. The guided cleans on Tom Rocks have shaped how I use my time everyday in the home AND whilst working (using the productive mornings/afternoon/day sessions). I giggle to my friends that my entire life is now narrated by Gemma Bray 🤣
Great app, needs a couple of improvements
Really like the app.
Helps me to get organised.
Set out nicely.
Love that you can edit the days tasks, roll over etc.
Would be great if each section had a basic explanation at the top.
Also, the timer stops when your phone is locked so for me it’s completely useless just used the timer on my phone instead.
Nice idea but not practical in everyday use
Love the idea, but the app needs some tweaks to make it more useable.
I changed my focus day but the app won’t update my daily tasks for the day and is still showing the focus tasks on the tick list, but showing other tasks in the edit function. Meaning I’m unable to tick off my days list as what I’m doing isn’t listed in the checklist.
Also my app keeps crashing on the main page. I have to restart my phone everytime.
Would’ve liked a bit more options for the price, but like I say the idea is very good at giving you things to do everyday and then a focus day.
