The Past Within Lite

My husband and I are travelling with lots of long bus journeys ahead and were looking for something fun to do together. This is the perfect taster for just the thing we wanted! We’ve now both downloaded the full game and are excited to get started. Also thank you to the developers for producing lots of free games so that we can try before we buy! Very happy to pay when we know it’s good, and now we’ve tried, we do!

This is a great, great concept! A little preview of the mechanics, with none of it actually being used in the base game, kind of like a prologue, is the best idea! If only I could say the same about the actual game itself…

Before I start this review I absolutely love Rusty Lake games and have played them all! I thought I would try the light version as I needed to rope in another player! I asked my wife to try it. She was totally lost in the Past and I ended up taking her phone off her to show her what to do. She said it was stupid and boring and does not want to play full game. So how am I supposed to play the full version. I appreciate you have set up a find a partner scheme. But playing with a stranger in a different country with time difference and no way of communicating with them? Unless you can convince me how I can make the full game work, I will have to give it a miss. So disappointed.

It’s great to play in the Rusty lake world with two people - but the gameplay is a little too simple for us - certainly compared to the original one player rusty lake games.

Why does this have to be two player, the whole point of an adventure game is to switch off from daily interactions and chillax 😂 I tried convincing my other half on another game and we both bought it but he soon lost interest. Love rusty lake and absolutely gutted it’s two player. I would definitely have bought it otherwise. Edit: thank you for your quick reply I have updated my rating to 5 stars as let’s be honest rusty lake are the best whether 1 player or 2. I actually downloaded the lite version on both my iPad and iphone and played both halves, which was fun! So I may do this with the full game too if I don’t have a partner 😃 Love you Rusty Lake.

I tried the link but it takes me to Safari which, unfortunately doesn’t work on my iPad. Is there any other way to play for just one player? If not I won’t be buying the full game when it comes out either which is a shame as I love the Rusty Lake series and have all the others.
