If you are from the St. Louis area and born pre 1970, I am pretty sure this app will put a smile on your face. A wonderful classic rock freeform station with top notch DJs. Note to developer - An Apple TV app would be sweet, pretty please.

Originally started listened to The Roots because of their St Louis connection. I grew up in St Louis and listened to some of these dj’s way back when. But the music is the real reason to listen. True album rock, deep cuts, classic rock tunes all the time without the bother of commercials. Best music ever made. Others say it but this is truly: Real. Rock. Radio, the Roots.fm.

The Roots is truly FREE FORM ALBUM ROCK! These guys know their music and their listeners!! Hear the songs that you haven’t heard in years and others the you’ve never heard that you will instantly love! A GREAT station and the app is totally free! No hidden charges! I especially like the sound. It sounds great in the car and in the home sound system.

IF you are looking for a station that plays Classic Rock we all love AND commercial free, STOP! You’ve found it, The Roots. This is not the “40” Classic Rock everyone else plays. I appreciate occasionally hearing songs by artists I recognize and I forgot about or maybe a song I have never heard. That is variety my friends. This is the second incarnation of this great station. This is what I could not find elsewhere on the interwebs. I don’t understand why this market is so under utilized. We have an HD station in STL, but I don’t always have an HD radio close by. This is just the ticket to fill that void. Commercial free AOR that we grew up with. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
