The School of Life Reviews

A gem; you’re lucky if you found it

This app has been equivalent to passive therapy for me. It’s an investment in every way.

The UI is great, but the UX needs to improve!

TheJollyFox on

I’ve always loved the content written and produced by The School of Life. In fact, I believe I’ll always be their humble student and carry out my teachings as a counsellor someday. However, the app, no matter how beautiful, fails to deliver on many fronts! - The videos stop playing despite of me having a good internet connection. - I wish to continue my self-help journey on the home page itself, rather than going through the tabs. - I understand that this review is just for the app, but I genuinely wish all of this would be accesing from my MacBook too. The website on desktop is not even half as good as the app.

App needs development

The app doesn’t do justice to the content it carry inside, please fix the issues asap, bring an ipad version and the app is buggy while playing videos, the videos stop playing on their own.

Facing issues while logging in

I am facing issues while logging in since the last few days. There isn’t any support from the developer. I have subscribed to the yearly package. Kindly help.

I love this app

But, i wish there was a widget for Home Screen and I could search the meaning of the word. Thanks for your content, it’s priceless.

iPad support!

Wish it supported iPad! And a widget would be great!

Way way more than just another blog app

Shiv S J on

The criteria for what content is shown is transparent. I came across videos, a photo, a quote and blogs too. It’s just not a list of blogs. *Now this is an(only) app i wouldn’t mind scrolling through all day* The UX is great. Easy on the eyes. Nothing overwhelming and at the same time, all required functionality. Can’t wait to make this a part of daily routine. One minor thing that’s missing - they could make a widget for the app.

Would like more focus, more depth

1. I don’t understand why app changes the homepage multiple times per day. Each page already contains too much information, so to see the articles constantly being swapped throughout the day is overwhelming and fatiguing. Keep it simple and let me have a few small things to ponder throughout the day. I think there is an article about minimalism in there :) 2. I wish the content had a better mix of education and therapeutic content. It feels like 5% education and 95% therapy content. If we are going to bring up art history and philosophy, treat me like an adult and give me just a little bit more to chew on. For example, why not give me a tad more background on the painting I’m looking at besides just the name of the person who made it? Why is this painting significant historically/culturally? I have no idea! But the author just wants to say “it’s ok to feel sad” or something along those lines. Which is fine, but I don’t know how to think about the painting in its actual historical context. 3. Are widgets coming?
