Africa Report Regular Reader

The online versions of the Wall Street Journal, BBC, Al Jazeera, and the Africa Report, are my daily briefings. They contain essential information for business. For me, the Africa Report provides context and depth, enriching my contributions at meetings and casual conversations and challenging me to consider other analyses. I very much recommend it, especially to Westerners trying to better understand this remarkable place.

TheAfricaReport.com tends to have the most and the latest news from all over Africa. It is essential reading for anyone who wants to know what is going on in Africa. That said, two slight criticisms: It does tend to focus on the big players and therefore disregard the smaller ones. I suppose it could be that they don’t have the resources to cover all 55 countries completely every single day. However I do notice that its sister publication Jeune Afrique has some very interesting bulletins about the francophone African countries that for some reason are not being translated into English (about Centrafrique and the Wagner Group for example). My French is not even eligible for a pardon so I don’t subscribe to Jeune Afrique, but it does seem to me that if a news organization already has an important article in French they should translate it into English and publish it on their AfricaReport page as well.

This is newsworthy company. It gives great insight that most western countries and their news media can’t.
