• Your To-Dos
Your basic building block is the almighty To-Do—each a small step toward a great accomplishment. You can add notes, tag it, schedule it, and break it down into smaller steps.
• Your Projects
Create a Project for any big goal, then add the to-dos to reach it. Use headings to structure your list as you outline your plan. There’s also a place to jot down your notes, and a deadline to keep you on schedule.
• Your Areas
Create an Area for each sphere of your life, such as Work, Family, Finance, and so on. This keeps everything neatly organized, and helps you see the big picture as you set your plans in motion.
• Your Plan
Everything on your schedule is neatly laid out in the Today and Upcoming lists, which show your to-dos and calendar events. Each morning, see what you planned for Today and decide what you want to do. The rest is down to you :)

You can also enjoy a beautiful dark mode at sunset, connect your calendars, open multiple windows, add a variety of widgets, scribble with Apple Pencil, create to-dos via Siri, import from Reminders—Things can do it all! There’s even Shortcuts integration if you want to automate your workflows.

AWARD-WINNING DESIGN
Made in Stuttgart, with two Apple Design Awards to its name, Things is a fine example of German engineering: designed not only to look fantastic, but to be perfectly functional as well. Every detail is thoughtfully considered, then polished to perfection.

Things 3 for iPad Reviews

Initially sour about repurchasing - now a convert

Peter Gryffindor on

Was very reluctant about repurchasing Things. I initially bought it back in 2010, and never really ended up using it. At the time, I only had an iPhone and Mac. The experience was pretty mixed. A few very nerdy friends had recommended it as a life planner and it never really stuck. Things 3 is an entirely different experience. It fulfils the promise of Things 1, with a clean yet deep UI and deep functionality. On an ideological note- I’m a firm believer that software should be either free or a single purchase. It’s refreshing to be able to pay a per-device purchase cost scaled to the relative value of the device rather than a subscription. Full credit to the devs for their pricing structure. To anyone reading- $35 NZ may sound like a lot of money for productivity software. Things 3 is _absolutely_ worth it. I’m old enough to remember when this is what software cost. Maybe I’m nostalgic, but this price seems to adequately reflect the attendant development hours and quality. Things will save you that money in stress and organisation within the month.

The solution to feeling overwhelmed

The apps very clean design means it brings structure and reduced how much I usually feel overwhelmed. Love the new mouse functionality!

Simple and Intuative

I’ve tried a lot of the others and Things is the one I keep coming back to. Clean and logical. Just great!

Don’t keep repurchasing

Great planner / organiser although it’s disappointing that the developers aren’t as organised with the purchases of their product. Releasing as a new app on new releases (Things 3 needed to be repurchased after I’d already paid for Things 2) and having completely separate iPhone and iPad versions is confusing in the App Store.

Yes to Things

PCompers on

Things invokes the freshness that the best of the early OSX apps achieved. (I’m an old IIe user) If you are IOS only or moving in that direction this is the todo for you. I have not used the Mac app). This app has kicked my life into shape. It’s ability to import Apples reminders is a game changer for me as well. Invoke Siri add reminder and there it is to be imported in Things. Buy Buy Buy

Works well on the Jumbo iPad

samwich69 on

Things works well on the 12.9” iPad. Of course using the IPad version of the Things app. The app uses the canvas really well. Adopting the larger screen also makes viewing projects and tasks that much easier. Overall a good experience and for how I like to use task management apps, it pretty much ticks all of the boxes. So why not five stars? Well the ability to colour code projects which sit outside work areas would be nice. I’m using this as a shortcut option to get to the projects I am most likely to be working on. If I could colour them then it work be easier to distinguish between jobs, work and anything else.

It’s cool and all but...

This is a fantastic app and its well thought of and made but there is a main drawback to it. Back then, I had brought the Ipad version and now im unable to download it for my phone or my applewatch. Can you please make it into one app that is available for all platforms?

iPad Keyboard support is *incredible*

Apart from everything else, I can now CTRL+Space to add a new task, just like on the Mac. YOU ALL ROCK! 😃

Great update!

Have tried many different task managers and keep coming back to Things. This new version is the best yet.

Clean, simple, easy

Skylark- on

This new version takes everything that was great about the original and makes it easier and more beautiful. A joy to use, and would recommend to anyone looking for a good all-round way to stay organised.
