Poprzez Wieki łączy w sobie prostotę zasad ze strategiczną głębią mechaniki dobierania kart i łączenia ich w zestawy, zapewniając w efekcie doskonałą rozgrywkę dla dwóch osób. Gracze zaczynają z pięcioma kartami na ręce i po dobraniu jednej z nich przekazują całą rękę oponentowi, powtarzając tę czynność aż do dobrania ostatniej karty. Każda dobrana karta posiada swój kolor, a także specjalną zasadę zdobywania punktów, która pozwala gromadzić punkty zwycięstwa za inne dobrane już karty. Na koniec każdej rundy gracze wybierają jedną z kart, którą zachowają w swoim królestwie jako relikt przeszłości - który pozwoli czerpać punkty w kolejnych rundach. Gra toczy się przez trzy rundy, po których zwycięża gracz z większą liczbą punktów.
