I think this app is a little pointless and boring. First of all I think adding sound/music would make it way better because it feels way to quiet for me. Plus TikTok already has slideshows so why make an app just for slide shows? Well idk I think it is boring and pointless…

TikTok is testing a new feature called Notes in Canada and Australia. Despite this, they do not offer any compensation or monetization options like the creator fund or TikTok shop to creators in these countries. TikTok seems to be using Canadians and Australians as test subjects, taking their viral content and making them try out the app without giving any financial benefits in return. Once the testing is done, features like TikTok shop are released to other countries, but not to Canada and Australia. Canadian and Australian creators see American creators getting significant monthly payments and watch TikTok support them during times of potential bans. However, TikTok does not invest any resources into supporting Canadian and Australian creators. This situation highlights TikTok's lack of respect for creators in these countries. Given the current tensions between China and these two countries, it seems likely that the Chinese government influences TikTok's decisions. After five years, it's clear that TikTok sees Canadian and Australian creators as merely sources of content and data for testing, without offering them any value in return. This has led many Canadian creators to move to other platforms like Facebook and YouTube, which provide better opportunities for growth.

I would add more features to link the accounts to TikTok, such as friends/followers, buttons that link to notes, and vice versa.

After using this for a few days, I can say that it’s basically like a less functional Pinterest that is largely filled with spammy accounts posting AI images. I’m not even sure if an algorithm of any sort exists here because no matter what I like it keeps feeding me things I’m absolutely not interested in on my main feed. Maybe one day this’ll be a worthy Instagram replacement, but for now it’s just not really worth it.

After only 5 min of using and one post I can say that it’s a good starter app but not to the level one would wish when compared to and linked with TikTok. It resembles Pinterest in layout and instagram in posting style and that definitely has its upsides (easier to navigate and visually appealing) Downsides: the search function needs to be more refined. The lack of ability to search up specific accounts and specify what exactly you are looking for is already frustrating. Additionally, the lack of ability to add more than 5 hashtags is also frustrating. Overall if they update the app more and take into account user feedback this decent app and platform could turn into a great one

The idea of TikTok notes is one I really like but as of right now there’s Two major flaws. 1 there really is no user base. This is expected of new apps but Tik Tok could so easily advertise this app the increase the user base and make the app feel more alive. As of now moats posts I see are from over a month ago. 2 it feels like there’s features missing / not easy to use, that would make the app stand out and more interesting use. For example, when you start on the app you can sign in with Tik Tok and have the same bio / pfp. Why not add a featured where you can easily jump from a persons Tik Tok notes to a persons Tik Tok. I think if Tik Tok brought in a bigger user base and added a few more features the app would make a great and fun social media platform but as of now it’s simply average.
