Tilt Hydrometer Reviews

Good technology, dropped the ball on the app

Shows live time reading and that’s about it. For minimal effort and investment they could have done a much better job and included tracking and charting right in the app, instead have to export data to an external data sheet. Won’t export info if your phone is not unlocked with the app open and even then it’s not 100% reliable. For a product that is as innovative and cool as it is they should step up their game on the app side.

Nonstarter

App is terrible. I can get readings on demand fairly reliably but pushing to cloud or storing long term is miserable. It’s clunky and weird and honestly doesn’t work well on android or iPhone. I’ve occasionally it gotten it to work but not reliably and the provided google cloud spreadsheet is cumbersome. I’d expect a lot more polish for the price of the device.

Kinks to work out

This app is wonderful. The only draw back is I can’t seem to get my beer to track itself. Upon set up, I was able to document its first reading to a spreadsheet, but have been unable to get it to report to the same spreadsheet since. No information seems to be available anywhere that helps explain how to continually track the same beer in the same spreadsheet. I even tried naming it the suggested name in my confirmation email, but nothing appears on the original sheet and no further readings are available on any other spreadsheet anywhere. It still is amazing to be able to monitor my brew in real time, I just have to break out the old pen and paper routine to track it myself.

Fantastic App that Works Great

This app works in conjunction with the Tilt Hydrometer and it does so flawlessly. As a home brewer this app along with the hydrometer, (purchased separately) gives me amazing insight to the fermentation of my home brews in live time. Just this weekend I was in Saratoga cheering on my son at his rowing regatta while keeping track of how my current batch of Barleywine was making out. Although this is my first brew with this app and device I can't say enough about it. Keep up the great work of putting power in the hands of home Brewers to make great beer.

Awesome Homebrew Gear!

Huge kudos to this group for inventing some new technology to measure specific gravity remotely. I have two of these and used in 6 batches, they work great! Sometimes picking up the signal is slow thru my stainless fermentors and I wish the battery lasted longer. But love this cutting edge gear, practical and less wasteful than taking sample measurements the old fashioned way, and it's very accurate!!
