It’s not perfect - language translation never is. I’m watching an interview with three Japanese Actors, two female one male, very different voices and speech patterns. Also it has never heard these voices before, which human translators know makes a big difference. Tuning your ear to someone’s voice and speech patterns makes translation easier. Yes, I have to apply some context, and names of people or places are a bit hit and miss because they are so unique - but the key thing is I CAN UNDERSTAND THE INTERVIEW ! I think this is way beyond what this App is designed to do, with more than one voice interleaved in a conversation, but even so it achieves what I hoped for. It can only get better from here! The translation is real time and as more dialogue comes through it revises the context and updates the translation, continuing until it reaches a logical break or pause in dialogue. I look forward to trying this with other languages and situations!!
