I have used this for a year + now to track my freelance work.

Scottishdi on

I have used this for a year + now to track my freelance work. It is so much easier to find my “billable hours” by tapping when I start work and finish work. Entries can be annotated. I haven’t needed the paid version yet, but its there if my work becomes more complex.

Excellent time tracker

CavelleH on

Really well thought out interface - easy to use and better value for money than some of the other trackers that are more expensive but have less features.

Free version essentially useless, paid version outrageously over priced subscription

Good interface but £100 for five years use compared to, say, the cost of Photoshop makes the price incredulous.

Can you add a timer for session e.g for 30min. I use the app with my Apple Watch and that make thing more convenient.

I’ve finally found the app for me!! Super great.

George Thompson on

I’ve gone through many pomdoro and timer apps. I’ve finally found one I think I will use in the long term. Really easy categorisation then the daily and weekly goals are hugely motivating! Improvements: Sounds weird but having the ability to pause a timer rather than having to create a new session would be good for me. So have a discard option, resume or save.

Update only gives ads tab?

Taxyovio on

Recently the app went all in subscription. The discounted annual price for old users is even pricier than the one-off price before. As an old user without paying the extra premium, all I get from the update is an empty tab advertising for the new subscription. What a hell.

This is a great tool

It's clearly been written by someone who actually uses it: it's simple but provides surprisingly rich tools: the ability to effectively have a two-level classification of tracked time is really nice. If you want to know where the time goes this will help. I think I would prefer a once-off cost to a subscription for the Pro upgrade, but it's cheap enough not to be a worry.

Where does all the time go?

Andrew Hanson, Author on

Timelines is a truly amazing little app that I found quite by chance a few days ago. It is well designed and has one simple, but very effective goal at its heart; to show you exactly what you are spending your time doing. I have long looked at various types of app to tell me this. Some with terribly complicated systems to try to offer you this insight. Others with exorbitantly expensive subscriptions presumably aimed at business clients. But Timelines has managed to bring clarity to showing me what I get up to, along with simplicity. Tap in a timeline in the Today widget and it starts a timer with the option to describe the event in more detail. Tap on the Apple Watch complication and boom you have a timer on your wrist showing you what you are spending your time doing. It is all designed to make entering information simple and straightforward. Beneath the hood though, in the events list and in the detailed analysis screens lie the true power of this app. A nice visual display of your day offers depth of insight into where the hours have gone. And of course, if you are honest with the app, and set a timer for when you are not doing something productive, the sense that the app is keeping an eye on your activity is enough to shame you into doing something else more productive. Brilliant. An absolute steal for the amount of money this app costs. I also understand that a version 2 is due out sometime soon with automated time trackers rolling out in the new version. Seriously, if you care about making the most of your day, for the small amount of money this app costs I would give it a go and see if it helps you as much as it has helped me. Five stars. Highly recommended.

Does what it says really well, swish smooth to use. Needs a few more features

Thegibbonthatwasheditshands on

There are some obvious features that need adding, but the features available are lovely to use.
