The paper and content is ok. It is the app that is problematic. Not sure whether it is due to the ads or videos that are present and constantly running with every article. My iPad becomes super hot within 15minutes. I understand the need to ads, but the way they are placed/running are causing real issues.

A news popped up as recommended news with Title “Malaysia goes full locked down again on Tuesday” was shocked by the news as I am in Malaysia and it’s Wednesday. Suddenly noticed the dates of the news was dated 2021. Damn!! It is time to delete this stupid app and install CNA instead. RIP today news app.

Latest version quite literally burns my phone. After reading one or two articles, my phone feels extra extra hot and the app starts to become increasingly laggy. Even makes the rest of phone laggy. What is it running in the background? After a few times of this and confirmed is caused by Today app, decided to stop using till next update.

1) page jumps down on its own when you scroll down. Makes it impossible to read without having to constantly search for the LH ast sentence you just read. 2) Font size not user friendly. Cannot increase size in the main page. Hard to read the tiny article captions. Wrote to Today on both issues. They just can’t be bothered so I deleted the poorly managed app.

App keeps jumping about from one section to another making it impossible to read !!

Jittery scroll makes it unusable

The latest “best thing” has the article skipping all over the place whenever I am reading. It looks like it wants to maximize the viewership of the adverts. But with the skipping everywhere I totally lose track of the article. Awful.

I thought it’ll be fix with the new update but it seems to be the same it got worse. It’s such a glaring problem that I’m amazed it hasn’t been fixed for so long.

Always the best digital news product on my phone. The user interface is forever attractive and it reaps and optimises good returns using minimal resources. Definitely overthrow it’s “big brother” CNA in its rate of return. I wonder how much more Singaporean Tax dollars are CNA going to continue to burn.

I have to spend a good 5 min reading a 1 min article because the advertisement keep refreshing and I need to scroll the article to where I last read because of it. Gave up reading the articles half the time because of this
