Drawn out and boring.

This was by far the best and most helpful novel writing app that I’ve used. Highly recommend it.
I get that this is not for a professional writer but for someone who needs a little push everyday to keep going it is really helpful. I don’t think that I was asking myself the right questions and this app helps me a lot. I am doing progress and I feel like I am going deep into writing because of it. Really good for me !
I was so hopeful for this app but it’s not nearly good enough. It supposedly learns where you are in the process, creating a custom path from that, but it mentions topics you haven’t covered so you go through it with the feeling of FOMO so it’s distracting. I started over pretending to need help from the beginning but it’s easy to lose your place and you still feel like you might have missed a lesson so i got to the outline view to make sure I’m getting everything. But then beyond that the content itself isn’t good. It’s an app but there’s no interconnectedness in the lessons. You set up goals but for some reason you’re limited to ones from a drop down list. In another place you can set your own goals but they don’t ever come up. For ex: launch the app, this is your goal for day 2. It has places where you brainstorm and another place to build on it but the lessons aren’t linked and you can’t see the contents of the other lesson so you are forced to keep all your notes elsewhere or maybe have laptop and iphone to lessons so you can refer back. Speaking of notes: everything is an individual pdf you have to download individually if you want to keep it somewhere safe. Then the lessons themselves: i liked them at first but it really doesn’t feel any different from the standard advice you can get for free. The app is pretty, just wish it actually did something app like, beyond just standard web pages
Enjoying it so far but I really would prefer a Mac app so I can take notes and move more easily between Tome and my manuscript
I’ve taken several video based writing course and read tons of books about writing a novel, but this course is the best!! They give you a personalized path, the lessons are interactive and they build on each other. And the app part is so awesome - I can work on it anywhere! And there are lots of resources and tools. And anything you write you can export! I am FINALLY really writing the novel that I’ve been wanting to write for soooo long!! I highly recommend this course/app!!
I’ve wanted to write a novel since I was a teenager, but have never had a helping hand that would keep me consistently aimed toward my goal. Tome is so helpful for me, and keep me going and improving. For me it is like Duolingo, but for writing my own book! It’s easy to use and the program never feels so overly challenging to a point where I would just stop, which is great! Absolutely love it and would definitely recommend!
The quality of the course is sooo good! I have wanted to get better at my writing in general, but I don’t have that much time to dedicate to it; I love that I can use this at my own pace! The design makes it very easy to follow along and I feel super supported! Incredible so far and I’m excited to see how my writing improves! Highly recommend!
I’ve never written anything longer than essays in school, but after working through this course am on my way towards having a full book draft! Interface is super intuitive and helpful, the lessons are fun and extremely useful, and there’s a lot of them - definitely a great value. Love this app!! Can’t recommend enough.
I’m so impressed—this is so much more complete than I ever hoped!! I bought this hoping for guidance along the writing journey. It’s more than guidance—it’s given me so much valuable information, but most importantly it’s given me so much confidence in making writing possible without much experience and without huge blocks of time. I’m so grateful for this course!!!!
