Several tools make it really easy to trace your image:
- Light Table - lock your screen, turn up the brightness, and trace the image from your screen directly!
- Handheld Mode -- On supported devices, Augmented Reality keeps your tracing image steady while you hold your device at a comfortable angle. (demo video https://youtu.be/YJeK5Sjdi1Q). Requires iOS 11.3 or later on iPhone 6s/6s Plus or iPad Pro and later. Works best on stable horizontal and vertical surfaces with good light and some visible surface detail.
- Lock the camera focus to keep the image steady while you trace.
- Lock the canvas area to keep your layout and alignment while you zoom in to get a close look at your work in progress.
- Several Filter modes enhance your image, increasing contrast to give you a better result.
- Use the flashlight to light up your drawing. (requires Full Version)
- Use the selfie camera and draw on your face. (requires Full Version)
Other features make it fun and easy to share your creations with your friends.
- Video recording in Time Lapse mode to make things smaller and faster and cooler. You can enable normal-speed and audio on the Settings screen.
- The recorded video or snapshot includes a small thumbnail of the tracing image (with an option to turn that off).
- Your videos and snapshots are stored automatically and available to share later from within the app, the Files app, or iTunes.
- Sharing your videos and photos is easy with a preview screen and saved photos/videos!
- Interrupted while recording your drawing? No problem - Combine multiple videos to create a single video for sharing! Use the Edit feature on the Saved Files screen: select two movies and tap Join.
Tracing Projector is Enhanced For 3D Touch! Start right away from the camera or photo album from the home screen! Force-touch on the tracing image to peek at your progress while you draw!
Notes:
- For best results, stabilize your device above your drawing surface. A stack of books, drinking glass, or tripod works best.

- The app requires access to your photos in order to load an image to trace and to save the video of your drawing.
- The app optionally uses your microphone when recording a video while you draw.

How much does Tracing Projector cost?
Tracing Projector has several in-app purchases/subscriptions, the average in-app price is £3.99.
A good program but find it really hard to use the hand held function - difficult for the program to pick up the surface area to even start off the project. Once it has detected the surface area it’s great but if there is a trick for the program to find it quicker that would be amazing currently for me it’s just hit and miss. And I have to give up using it.
Terrible
This app has potential but when I'm trying to draw the image is constantly changing size randomly and quivering to the point I can't draw. Absolutely terrible.
Scammmmmm
I bought the full functionality and it never gave me what it said it would.
This app is so incredibly stupid.
it gives you about 2 minutes just to draw for free so it makes you rush, the actual image jumps around non stop and can’t stay still, not to mention when the timer is up it resets the image and completely ruins everything, plus I downloaded this app to help with drawing and steady hands yet it just makes it even harder, don’t download this game unless you want to waste money for no reason.
Great value, get while you can.
It seems that the subscription model has grabbed other AR tracing apps. But, this one is pay in full. At a fiver, it’s great value from what I’ve seen so far.
It’s helped me up a piece of work involving a few pencil sketches of buildings. Once these are done, I’ll go over them in ink and apply my own style knowing that the shapes and proportions are spot on.
Thank you🤙
Amazing
This is amazing loads of people say it’s bad but even though the timer u can draw pictures of ur phone album the delete them for storage it’s really good it’s free just a bit of a timer it’s still really good !
Stupid features
This app is really good, but the only thing that made me have to delete it is the fact that you are forced to draw within 3 minutes and there is no way to turn it off unless you pay.
Amazing
This app is really good for when you are trying to draw something that you struggle with
Doesn’t work
It’s really difficult to use and just quite frankly isn’t reliable and practical. I’ve just downloaded it and now regret pressing it because your image doesn’t even stay where it is, and when I used non-tripod mode the image I was tracing disappeared entirely.
From now on I will just draw things myself by eye.
Please developers make it a bit more easy, especially to younger people and children.
