Our backyard shares about 10 acres with about 8 other houses on our block. We always felt safe letting our cats go out back after the sun was up for a bit and we had walked the perimeter looking for coyotes and then bring them in before dusk. Little did we know, one of them, Our Ollie Baby, was traveling over 3/4 of a mile and going out the front of a neighbors yard to cross the street to another field. After he was hit and killed, the people that hit him took him to animal services and stayed with him until it was determined by the on call vet that he would not be able to survive his injuries and they humanly put him down. We found out days later from that neighbor that he had been doing that for weeks. His brother now wears a tractive and it notifies us every time he goes into ANYBODIES front yard and we instantly go chase him back home. We also started turning the music on when he is too far and he has learned that the music means he is out of bounds and to start heading home until the music gets turned off. At first we were running out a couple of times a day, but after 6 months we pretty much just have to turn the music on now and he starts heading home without being yelled at to get home. Our new kittens have a catio but for a cat that was used to roaming a couple miles a day we just didn't think it was fair to take that away from him. Thank You Tractive for allowing him his freedom and safety and for allowing us piece of mind knowing exactly where he is and that he is safe.

Does not work well if cloudy(which makes no sense) worked great for a while but slowly became unreliable. Shame really. Likely the cheapish gps tracker unit. Onward to find a brand that works 24/7

The app works ok, but the tracker needed to use with the app is overpriced garbage. Their customer service is not great.

Got this for one of the barn cats that tends to wander. If she’s not in the battery saving zone the battery life only last 2 days! Not any good if this tractor dies while your pet is missing for more than an day!

I have an indoor cat and put a virtual fence incase he escapes. So far had the app for a month and occasionally the app tells me my cat escaped the fence and tells me he went a couple miles away and i obviously go look for him and after 30m of looking for him the app tells me he just teleported back to my house and I had a family member tell me he has been in the house the whole time. So how am i supposed to know if he’s actually gone. So yes sometimes the tracking can be fine but it be glitching out and it scares me. Please fix this bug.

I really love this product, the battery lasts forever and it’s very reassuring for me to be able to track my pups as they like to run off chasing deer and such. I wish it was a little cheaper or that there was a bundle plan for the subscription, but I’ll continue to use the service regardless. Also watch out because they will auto charge you for insurance, which you won’t need because the product is well-built, but the insurance is more than the device 🤣

I had Fi before Tractive. Signal pickup more intermittent with Fi. I love live mode when trying to track dog down with Tractive. Battery life OK but I would recommend getting Tractive with longer battery life. Worth the extra money.

I got two of these stupid trackers more than a year ago. It works as emergency use only if your dog runs off and you want to see if it’s somewhere in the same county then at least you know. The app itself is extremely cumbersome. You have to click through so many different screens just to toggle between pets. Trying to get the tracker to make a noise or show a light requires lots of moving through the app. If you want to turn on the light or the sound, that should be an immediate access button. The volume of the sound the tracker puts out is almost dead quiet. Essentially it is useless, because if you are close enough to hear it, then you’re already within about 5 feet of your dog at that point. The app is often unable to find the tracker even when I AND my dogs are standing in my house, 5 feet from the router, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on all my devices. I can be standing next to my dog either in the house, which is again by the router, or out in the yard using just GPS and the app will tell me he is 300 feet in another direction. I used to be a tech person and I can tell you I don’t understand why they didn’t have any tech people work on the app or the device. Because they clearly have not. There is no flow to the usage on this app. I am on my second year with these trackers. That is absolutely in no way, shape, or form any kind of endorsement. the only reason I didn’t switch to the Fi collar as I hear it is equally insufficient. One of my dogs is a double merle. He was born deaf and partially blind. I thought the tracker would save me some nervousness, and to a certain extent it does because it does show me he is in the vicinity. But that doesn’t help me if he’s hiding behind a bush and the app tells me he’s 438 feet in the opposite direction and the app refuses to turn the sound on the collar because it says he’s in a safe Wi-Fi zone even though it says he’s hundreds of feet from the house. I went on Amazon and got a couple of dog collar bells and that little set of bells gives me more security than this app or tracker does. Again, this app and tracker is for EMERGENCY USE ONLY! Last night I was extra tired, and when I took off my girl’s collar, I set it someplace in the bedroom and I can’t find it. Shouldn’t be a problem, right? Because it’s a tracker. It has been according to the app playing a sound for the last 15 minutes. I guess I have to tear my room apart to find it because the app is not helpful and the tracker is making no sound. Our dog has a habit of following ppl down the river. We have spent hours looking for him. With this app we can see right where he is and go get him with no issues. I couldn’t be any more pleased

My cat lost the tracker in the wifi power savings mode area but i cant find the tracker. Would love if I can reset tracker over the air and the ability to play sound if its in wifi power savings mode area. Delete the wifi but it still didnt clear the area.
