TrainDesign is born with the purpose to plan your model railroad track. In a few minutes you can create lines of any kind. Using a set of tracks you can choose the type of binary-to-use, orient, stretch or shrink it. The curves can be modified to width angle and radius of curvature.
TrainDesign stands out for its ease of use and the versatility, giving space for creativity. You will learn that it is very easy to edit lines, determine the altitude, change every single piece in an intuitive and simple manner. With only the use of your fingers, you can create small or large tracks, focus on building a single part using the touch or see the route as a whole.

🤔 The TrainDesign app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
Worked well at first, now seems to be overdue for updates
This was initially pretty easy to use. I liked that, if a particular track was not available, you could add it. Granted, you were inputing each track piece one at a time, but it was rather easy, despite being time consuming. Designing a 3D plan was a bit tricky, and the track loops didnkt quite connect, but it was close enough to help me figure out what track to order.
Now, about 2 years later, I want to design a new layout. Unfortunately, it seems the app doesn’t respond as well, and there hasn’t been an update in quite a while. I’m trying to design a small layout for a fixed dimension piece of remnant plywood, and I’m having difficulty even setting the boundary dimensions, let alone start the track design.
I hope the developers haven’t moved on, and will update the app soon.
Wrong geometry for minitrix
This could be a good piece of software with some work but for the track I was using the geometry is off quite a bit.
Bye bye $2.00
This app. is so bad , they would have to pay me to give it 1 star!
Not quite ready for meaningful use yet
Spent 2 bucks to see if maybe this was a viable program.
It isn't......at least not yet.
Probably a good start to build this program for future use, but now it needs a fair amount is work to be of use.
Definitely not user friendly at this point.
What a joke
Full of bugs, can’t move track once placed, rotate turnout doesn’t always work (tool not enabled), quirky interface (that is, lame…), no provision for flex track, I could go on, but why bother. It’s only $2, but I want my money back anyway.
Incomplete libraries
A pretty nifty app with great features. The track libraries in the app do not match the list provided on their website. PLEASE add the Rokuhan Z track library to the app!!! ( I will change my rating to 5 stars when you do 😬)
Generally well done but no way to report the odd bug
I have been playing with designing track in Marklin Z and am generally impressed, especially at this price. However, I am now stuck. I have a piece that I need to rotate twice but the rotate icon greys out after one rotation; other pieces rotate here and this piece works fine in other places. There is obviously a small bug which needs to be addressed but there is no way I have found to let the designer know about the glitch. I don’t expect any quick fixes but it would be good to be able to log the issue.
So far so good
The app is very intuitive but if you need some help there are some videos on the authors website plus on YouTube. For $2 it’s a worthwhile investment compared to the $59 I was considering shelling out. Since I’m only designing one layout, which is all the room I have to spare, I figured I’d give it a shot. So far so good. The variety of tracks is sufficient for my needs. Not sure who said you can only modify existing plans but that’s not accurate. I designed a simple layout within minutes.
Not usable
This is junk. Zooming is sketchy, losing my track. Cant switch the red dot to continue with different track. This is truly a time waster of the worst kind. Developer should be ashamed of taking money for an app that is not useable. This should be pulled from the store. I wonder how many others have contributed their $2. Wonder how much developer has scammed. Its stealing! Theft! Fraud!
Give me my money back.
Oh and the plan library has a plan used multiple times! Just change the name and use it again. If you just google you can find most if these plans and more for free. Just do screen capture and build your own library.
SCAM
Don’t waste your money buying this app
Completely useless, unless you use one of their plans
