Thermostats are offline more often than not. We have a good stable wifi so I’m not sure why they disconnect.
It works great, easy to program easy to see my schedule in my history. And I am very glad it’s not connected to my power company!
Very unreliable and hard to reset system and keep units, I have five, connected to Internet.
The interface is very basic. The web interface has color and added information, similar to the thermostat that app does not have.
I have not been able to control my system from the app the past month. No changes made that would cause a lost connection. Disappointed with the app functionality considering the reputation of trane as a HVAC company.
I love being able to change my thermostat from my phone wherever I am.
We had this system for several years without any issues and then the network Maintenance emails started coming. With each one there were a few hours of outage but then it was back to normal. The last outage was 3 days and then it finally resolved till it didn’t. Now the network connection constantly drops so what’s the point of having a ‘Smart’ thermostat that’s this dumb!
Overall, the app works, but it's just OK. On the positive side, the app appears to be stable and allows face ID so it doesn't sign me out constantly like some of my other smart-home-style apps. My main beef is that it doesn't display more system information on the dashboard, which would be nice given how quiet the newer HVAC systems. More details: -The "Schedules" tab is really the only reason to use the app because it's much easier than the Trane Link UX360. -The display information on the home screen ("Dashboard") is not very useful and not customizable. It would be nice create custom views to display system information the user wants to see (like stage status and fan speed). -The main menu brings up app-specific options, most of which are irrelevant for my use (geofences, videos, news). -It's confusing to have "App Settings" in the menu and "Settings" on the bottom. The "App Settings" has some useful stuff like enabling face ID to sign in (very nice!) and "Settings" is more about your actual HVAC system (mode [off, auto, cool, heat], run mode [hold temp, run schedule], temperature scale, etc.). Some of the latter is useless like "filter size" and "send filter reminders." One problem is that the "Settings" page shows your HVAC Service Information, but you need to access "App Settings" to enable HVAC dealer access. That's a pretty poor design. -The "Events" option is next to worthless. It does provide a history of things going on with the HVAC system, but it's not easy to read or find relevant information easily. I'd much rather have a display that shows system status (idle, cooling, heating, alert), stage status, and compressor speed.
App is very difficult to use if you have vision challenges. It does not run in dark mode.
