Transcendental Meditation

The official TM app

Description

The Transcendental Meditation app is a support tool for verified TM meditators and their teachers.
FEATURES INCLUDE:
– A custom timer to support regular practice
– A meditation log to keep you motivated
– Videos and articles to enrich your understanding
– An event calendar with a global TM events listing
In addition to TM course support, the app offers an official TM timer to help you stay regular with your meditation. Enable chimes, vibration, dark mode and reminders to assist with your meditation. If you need help with your TM practice, choose from a series of FAQ, which are short videos that answer common questions from meditators. You can also send your meditations to Apple Health.
You’ll also find a meditation log to keep track of your meditation sessions. Check your regularity at a glance, and view the number of hours you have meditated and total meditation sessions per month.
In the app’s Library, explore a range of content and tutorials from Dr. Tony Nader, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, scientific experts, famous meditators, community leaders, and more. They share the impact TM has had on their lives, the next steps you can take in your TM journey, and some of the research that has been done into the effects of TM.
Track your progress through videos and articles, including the TM course review, which will remind you of the key concepts from when you learned TM.
You can also use the TM app to connect with others in the international community of meditators via the Events section of the app. View and join upcoming group meditations and other TM events taking place online.
If you haven’t learned TM yet, visit TM.org to find a certified TM teacher.

I’ve been meditating for over 50 years. This a simple, eloquent, beautiful app!

Please add the function to be able to add a meditation to the calendar that was done without the app, if there is currently no meditation already tracked for the day.

I am new to TM. The app is good, but I wish for a separate section for a reading library, maybe a chat to discuss topics, engage with others in the TM community, or even a meetup section. It's hard to find like-minded people.

Love the app, does everything well - one question i have for the developers and that is: are you thinking of having the app working on smartwatches as well? it would be super helpful eg on apple watch

One of the BEST apps I’ve ever had.

I’ve been practicing TM since February 16th of 2024, & it’s been a life changing experience. I’m a lot calmer. I think clearer. I handle situations differently. I give myself more grace. I send my thanks to my TM teacher Michael Garza, & the entirety of the TM team for this app, as it’s helped me change my life.

Fine tech, needs enhanced content

Hello, I've been enjoying the app daily for the six months since my initiation. I use it for meditation and a musical rest. I've been logging my meditations and the daily messages. I've found, however, that often the exact same words are repeated. I imagine that an almost endless amount of wisdom has been documented and can be verbally conveyed that the founder of this meditation tradition has gifted us. It would enhance the app experience, in my opinion, to have a new verbal expression after each meditation. Also, some of the wording can be awkward at times, I imagine due to translation. Please consider revisiting translations presented for a more enlightening experience. With appreciation for all the work this has required and which improvements mentioned here will entail. Best regards, Jacqueline Magro

There is a dharma at the end of each meditation, which I initially very much appreciated. Now that I've seen each one many times, I realize they don't have the same impact. I recommend investing time into furthering your library of post-meditation wisdom.

There must be a feedback loop

I have several problems with this app. Let’s start with the total lack of input from meditators. I have been meditating since 1975. I was able to benefit from a TM promotion of a paltry $50 fee for high school students to learn how to properly practice transcendental meditation. In the following 50 plus years of being an at times fanatical/at times very casual practitioner of TM, I have never been the recipient of the claimed benefits of tranquillity, wisdom, mental clarity, grace, and so on. At best, TM helped me chill out a little, but my life was never “altered” as is claimed in this app to be my just, inevitable reward. So here I am, age 67, still meditating, and still deriving nothing from TM more than 40 minutes of a little down time. It seems to me that if this app offered some kind of communal forum for meditators to speak to their personal experiences, help others that might only need better guidance, and create a safe space for technique discussion and even friendship ties, the TM world would be a better place. Or, there are already a zillion places on the Web that already do that. I am simply reviewing this particular app. The lessons section only present videos of “elders” that have already drank the potion, and the “wisdom” paragraphs presented at the end of the 3 minute awakening session are some of the silliest wastes of electrons I have ever seen. IMO. Jim S.
