Good for what is does, but expensive
I used Journo for a four week trip across Europe, blogging each and every day. I wanted an app with a map so friends and family knew where I was. I liked the simple journaling interface, the ability to log locations and to caption photos.
For people following the blog on a phone, the interface is a bit clumsy. The oldest entry appears first and people then have to scroll further down each day to find the newest entry.
On phones there is an icon that brings up the map to find the latest entry, but this is not so obvious. I think several followers lost interest because of this. On bigger screens the map is always visible so not a problem.
In the UK store the app costs £19.99 per month which I think is too expensive so sadly will be cancelling.
Doesn’t like landscape
App looks good and capable, but doesn’t like landscape so very limiting if you like to use keyboard on your ipad
A little disappointed
It’s a nice app but the map didn’t work well for me and didn’t seem to be able to be fixed despite me contacting support.
I like being able to complete off line entries but sometimes there is a glitch and the pictures don’t upload properly but then I have to re do the entry. I also don’t like the fact you can’t segment/chapter your blog so your regular readers have to scroll through the whole thing in order to see the new content - on a 3 month trip this is tiresome.
Lots of my friends and family have had problems trying to comment on my blog. I don’t like the fact you can see via the messages on your profile that people have commented on your content but then you have to log in via the website in order to see what was written.
It’s a great concept but the reality doesn’t work so well. I regret paying for this app.

Simply best travel diary/journal app out there!
We needed an easy to use, functional app to record and share our travel experiences as we sailed 4,500 plus miles on our boat from the UK to and around the Med.
I researched and downloaded every app out there. I tried them all out and Journo was and still is the standout winner. Most had key features missing that anyone travelling will need. Or they were just not intuitive.
Highly recommended by us to anyone wanting to journal their travels and experiences!

Have been looking at this App as a possible travel blog. But friends and family like to receive the posts from me as I write them. There doesn’t seem to be a facility for this?
