The only free content is worse that browsing Wikipedia to learn about wine. Free content contains errors, over generalizations and incessant pop ups. Due to the horrendous quality of the free content, who would ever pay for premium content?
Awesome app for learning the impact of wine making, regions, and style! Considering the membership price, there is definitely room to grow on some key regions (eg USA with Napa, Sonoma, Willamette, Walla Walla, Finger Lakes), central and southern Italy (Chianti), Germany, New Zealand, Portugal! Can’t wait for more lessons to be added One bug - in profile under certifications; none of the “region” badges register so it’s impossible to move beyond “Level 1”
I’ve been using and loving this app for a while now, so I figured it was time to leave a review! Wine has always been my go-to drink, but I used to stick to familiar brands and regions since I didn’t know much beyond that. True Wine has increased my knowledge and also (unexpected) boosted my confidence! Thanks to the app’s easy-to-follow lessons, I can now describe the wine profiles I enjoy and chat with the waiter to find a wine I would like! I’ve even started showing True Wine to wine professionals I meet, and they love the concept. My favorite feature is the region map for all the wines. I’m a visual learner and it’s fun to show the table where the wine comes from & fun facts about the region.
Great info and presentation of material. Unfortunately, it’s buggy, it asks to log in and then says I am already logged in. Unable to reset password.
Too little information takes too long to reveal itself… The excess button clicking, similar to the language apps, is quite annoying. The timed tests are a nuisance. They disappeared when I sub’d, but resurfaced in the champagne section despite the sub. I ended up just buying the Wine Bible on kindle. Reading a thousand page book must be faster than clicking buttons and retaking timed-out tests (maybe I am slow!). It certainly contains more info.
Training foe WSET level 2 and some of these questions are contrary to what’s in the book.
I love learning about wine! Love this app!
I’m studying for my level 1 sommelier certification and this app is very easy to use and the information is presented in a way that it’s very easy to absorb. I showed the app to a level 3 sommelier and he told me he wished he had it when he first started studying for his level 1 certification.
Your “Sweetness” lesson has a glitch in the “match” section
