If you prefer holding your smartphone to tilting the gas cylinder, you’re in luck, because the LevelControl lets you do just this. The gas level measuring device uses ultrasound to measure how much gas is left in the cylinder and displays the result in the app. Attach the LevelControl to the bottom of the cylinder, open the app, check the gas level – it couldn’t be easier!

The new LevelControl app also gives you the option of using Bluetooth to check the gas level. This functions conveniently and reliably in the vehicle and outside it when within range. If you want to check the gas level while travelling, you’ll need the Truma iNet Box and the tried-and-tested Truma app. It sends the measurement results by text to your smartphone – whether you’re at home or out skiing on the piste. The Truma iNet Box also allows you to connect other appliances such as the Truma heaters and air conditioners to the iNet System and to operate them using the Truma app.

Truma LevelControl features

- Notification when gas level is low
- Use several LevelControl at the same time
- Adheres magnetically to any steel cylinder – and, thanks to a clamping sheet, also to aluminium cylinders
- Works with all current European gas cylinders – simply select the model from the extensive database

The LevelControl is not suitable for plastic gas cylinders, refillable tank gas cylinders, gas tanks or butane gas cylinders (camping gas).

First impression

Developer to add more preconfigured bottle sizes for UK please, hope to get usage info with this app (no iNet box) will follow with further reviews Is it possible to add 11 kg Propane bottle? This is the size used in our motorhome

Unsure about accuracy

Installed the level control about a week ago once I knew both 11kg bottles were full but after one week of using gas for heating at night, hot water, sometime fridge usage it is still showing as 100% in the app. Maybe I’ll be pleasantly surprised by how far 2 * 11kg bottles of gas will go but at the moment the jury’s out on the accuracy of the device.

3 years of use

My review is lower down in the list but just wanted to say I’ve been using the level control unit for 3 years now and it still works perfectly for me.

Estimated remaining days not displayed

Hi the set up of the sensor and app was quick no easy; all completed with minutes. However I cannot see the estimated remaining days based on gas usage? The bottle is currently 100%; does the app need to detect usage before it provides this data? Do I receive low level warnings to my device via bluetooth when in range if I do not have an iNet box? Estimated remaining days are not displayed? This is listed s a function but don’t appear to see the data? Is this displayed as the gas starts to be used?

Missing some UK Calor bottle sizes

I received one of these for Christmas and have tried to set it up today. Tried first with a 6kg Calor propane and it worked okay. Then switched to a 13kg bottle and couldn’t reconfigure the App. I think from reading some App reviews that this size is not pre-configured but I had assumed I had not done things correctly. This bottle size is commonly used in the UK. Can the App be enhanced to include it?

No Uk 13kg bottle

I have set it up manually however I’m not convinced It’s that accurate. It’s also very intermittent in getting a reading. I will probably be sending the unit back for a refund.

Does not register correct level

Have been trying to get this to register a level for days it’s either 100% or 0% it’s clearly not working.

Still No 13kg Bottles for UK?

The previous review on 5th Jan 2020 of this app noted that there was no 13kg bottles option in the drop down menu within the app for UK use. After an acknowledgment by Truma in Feb 2020, and almost a year later, there is still no 13kg option in the menu. I know there is the option to set your own bottle weight etc within the setup of the Level Control, but just how will this manual set up affect the accuracy of the device?

Simple App but missing features

I like the simplicity of the app, however there is no way to setup alerts or integrate with the main Truma App. Also the cylinder database does not contain 13kg Propane bottles from U.K.? Come on, these are the most common bottle type in this country?
