UNC Check-In Reviews

Attendance Policy Torture, One Glitch at a Time

Made soley to review this app on

United States

The UNC Check-In App is the ultimate tool for enforcing the most hated attendance policy ever created. Nothing says “college experience” like treating adults as toddlers, forcing them to prove they’re in class with a glitchy app that works about as well as dial-up internet. Missed check-ins because of crashes or bad Wi-Fi? Too bad—your future depends on your ability to outsmart terrible tech. This isn’t education; it’s a masterclass in unnecessary frustration. Bravo, KFBS!

Worst way to track attendance

Do better unc on

This was an evasion or privacy for one. It literally wouldn’t work most of the time so I’d have to open it outside the building in order to use it for class. On multiple occasions I had to leave class just to get it to work. If you can’t make an app that can actually work maybe don’t make it 👎

Big data wins again

I pay good money to go to college, so when I realized it was required to download this LOCATION STEALING APP onto my precious new phone I was rightfully angered and confused. Why, in this era of rampant data monetization and GOVERNMENT SPYING are we treated like we're under house arrest and forced to use this glorified ANKLE BRACELET whenever class rolls around? I came to this school as a mother of two (used to be three until I was convinced by some communist establishment doctor to vaccinate my third and he developed autism), and let me tell you, I would never forcefully TRACK my kids location to make sure they were home on time. I believe in cultivating an aura of skepticism and independence in all my children which is why I have decided to NEVER SEND MY CHILDREN to college. These institutions indoctrinate our kids and regurgitate PRO-VAXXING, ROUND EARTH PEA BRAINS that are complacent with their data being stolen and sold to people like SATAN ZUCKERBERG and FELON MUSK so that they can rake in the millions and keep the free thinkers of our country TAGGED AND TRACKED. DO NOT INSTALL!

Unnecessary invasion of privacy

73758596828 on

United States

This is a gross invasion of privacy. There are other methods of taking attendance that don’t involve requiring access to your students’ phones and personal information. With personal data privacy being such a hot topic nowadays, the use of this app is extremely invasive and inappropriate. College students should not be monitored like inmates.

Annoying and Prohibitive

User Entity on

United States

Makes learning environments less accessible at UNC by requiring the use of a smartphone. Furthermore, you have to turn on bluetooth and location sharing. Creates more problems than it solves.
