Update Needed
This is a very useful app, but has not been updated in over two years. It is no longer fully functional on iOS 13 and is missing 3 years worth of new listings, which is unfortunate and frustrating for users like myself who paid for the convenience of the app - since all heritage sites and information are freely available online, but the ability to see them on a map and to save visited sites (including a date) is well worth the price. HarperCollins, please update this app or refund your customers!
Update please
Proudly says now lists 2015 2016 sites. Hey guys it’s 2019, please add the new listings.
Ukraine
Only one site mentioned for Ukraine?
Needing an update
Had not used for a while but missing sites from recent nominations
Superb app !
I love this app. Must have for any travel freak
Excellent app, but...
A very good app which helps me enormously when planning trips, BUT: Why is it that I can display a list of sites I've marked as visited (not that useful) but I can't display a list of sites I haven't yet visited (useful)?
Super, but......
This is a super app but really needs one tiny revision to make it rock-solid useful "in the real world". The simple addition of a "find nearest" facility would help all of us who want to see these sights, to find them, in those rare travelling moments that are not spent with clients.
Come on there UNESCO, get yourself FIVE STARS!!! ;=)
Absolutely excellent.
This app includes all of the World Heritage Sites. They are clearly presented and the app is very easy to navigate. My favourite feature is that you can save both your favourite sites (maybe places that you would like to visit) and also, separately, those sites that you have visited.
There is just the right amount of text, various links provided for further information or further photographs.
Apps like this are what an iPad was made for.
Simply Superb . . .
What a fantastic overview of UNESCO world heritage sites. There are detailed descriptions and photographs of all sites, put together in a way which makes it simple to browse between them all. This app is excellent as you can casually browse a handful of sites every evening and dip in and out as much as you like without getting bored. It's also great for planning holidays as you can see where each site is located around the globe. Endless hours of fun :-)
Pricey and missing basic features
Some basic features are missing that are standard elsewhere e.g. the National Trust's app. To begin with, a location-based map showing nearby sites is an obvious omission as is a photo gallery i.e. not just a single photo of sites.
In addition, several sites are disappointingly missing photos which defeats the purpose of this app. Finally, the rest of the interface has potential but is ultimately clunky by offering little else than sorting of sites by region, country etc. Another such example of the app's clunkiness is that you can mark the sites that you've visited, which is a good feature that is however spoiled by having to also enter a date for when you visited and isn't optional.
On the plus side, the app is optimised for both the iPhone and the iPad. But given the price and the current features it doesn't make for a particularly good app overall.
