* Uniform works best with Apple Pencil. Some features may not be accessible when using touch only input.
* Uniform is optimized for the latest iPad devices. Some optimizations may not be available for 2018 or earlier iPad models.
Uniform is a multi purpose, art focused data editor.
With Uniform you can use the exact same toolkit for creating high poly sculpts, low poly models with textures, normal maps, PBR painting and layering, 2D images and final renders.
No modes, no different tools and settings for different object types. Uniform allows you to use the exact same paint brush to paint on a high poly mesh or on a pixel art image.
Main features:
* Modular, highly customizable tool system that covers a wide range of operations, such as:
High poly sculpting and color/PBR painting, including deformers, filters, alpha stamps and VDMs.
Texture painting and normal map sculpting. Create high resolution details in low poly objects without baking a high poly mesh.
Per pixel/vertex painting for precision pixel art painting and low poly models with visible pixel grids and nearest texture filtering.
Direct mesh topology manipulation for poly to poly modeling and retopology, including CozyBlanket pencil tool.
Seam based UV unwrapping, voxel remesh and subdivision based sculpting.
Region segmentation for partial visibility management and controlling areas of influence.
Object creation, mesh primitives and volume-based sketching.
Real time non destructive geometry evaluators like OpenSubdiv or Shell.
* Layer stack compositor: Uniform supports layers for both displacement and color in all object types (meshes, textures and images). Uniform layer compositor supports procedural layers such as color fills, color corrections and PBR material fills. Layers can have its influence controlled by user editable masks.
* Great performance thanks to GPU accelerated tools and layer stack compositor. Uniform takes full advantage of the iPad unified memory architecture and GPU compute capabilities. Use surface filters or brushes that fully cover a model with several millions of polygons without any lag or stuttering.
* Multi-scene workspace. Uniform supports working on multiple scenes at the same time within the same file. These scenes can be rendered in multiple views using various viewports or instanced inside other scenes for compositing more complex models.
* Multi object editing: Uniform supports editing multiple objects at the same time, even when they are from different types. You can paint across a model composed of high meshes, meshes with textures and images with a single stroke.
* Real time renderer with supports for PBR materials and NPR blending, point lights, HDRs and automatic tool overlays.
* Dynamic surface views to visualize models the best way possible depending on the task. Surface views can be customized with a built-in editor.
* Advanced tool management features: Uniform tool grid allows quick access to a large number of tools by using keyboard shortcuts or Apple Pencil gestures. Uniform supports loading custom tools from user defined repositories and performing global search over all available tools.
* Cycles render engine for high quality viewport previews and final render output.

Uniform FAQ
Is Uniform free?
Yes, Uniform is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is Uniform legit?
Not enough reviews to make a reliable assessment. The app needs more user feedback.
(v. 1.0.5.) The application looks very ambitious, but it is not yet possible to work in it. It keeps freezing and crashing. If it crashes, I'll lose the data and the time I spent on it. Many classic features are still missing. It's also a shame about the very unintuitive UI, which is like from another world. You could get used to the UI if the app worked. The application was quite expensive for the fact that it is only an "experimental beta version", in which it is not yet possible to work fully.
I would like to improve/complete:
1. crashing,
2. viewport (toggle wireframe),
3. full-fledged snapping,
4. possibility to import curves from affinity designer, convert them to polygon and then extrude.
5. bitmap to mesh (something like modeling from tri-planar projection).
I believe you are working hard on the app and I will look forward to each new version.
Number 1 favorite Ipad 3D app
After spending some time with this app, some time with the new IPad ZBrush, and Nomad sculpt.
I think its possible that Uniform is actually better ZBrush.
The biggest standing issues I see here are in the user experience, there are A LOT of great features in here, and yeah getting to it all is gonna require time and willpower to find and learn it. But what 3D app doesnt? Its not really any more obtuse than zbrush when you first start in on it. Granted the lack of a ton of tutorial information because of the relative new-ness is gonna slow down and frustrate some folks, but if you stick with it (and I highly recommend joining the discord, the developers are very active, helpful, and receptive) there is an amazing piece of software here.
The only feedback I could really offer is some better explanations in the tooltips to help make the pretty technical modules and stuff more understandable without the guess and check method.
UNIFORM IS FREAKING AWESOME!!!
I don’t know why there are low-stars reviews, maybe other users don’t spend enough time in the app. It is a little bit confusing at first because the UI is kinda new/different, but once you learn where things are and what they do, it is really fun to use. All the tools are very customizable too.
There are a lot new, fun, awesome features being added to the app. It just keeps getting better and better.
If you are into 3D, own an IPad, I don’t see why not giving this app a try.
Great app & dev, watch the video tutorial
The dev is a very well known artist
and has created a similar but different
approach to 3D workflows. Just make sure
to spend the time going through his YouTube
video (the sushi plate one). And read the documentation on the website and you will be up and running in a matter of several small learning sessions.
It has only 1 week on the app store and some
things need fixing but the dev is very active on the discord
and fixing dugs as they are reported. We already have an update released within the same week. That made my purchase worth every penny knowing about the hyper support. I reported several issues on the discord server and the dev even went as far as replying when they were fixed. Great customer service.
Complex ui, will come back later
I would like the app to have a startup file, cozy blanket (another app from them) was really easy to learn and start in comparison, I admit that is a simpler app.
Having a predetermined workspace would help
I will come back once the tutorials start coming up
Tutorial doesn’t explain how this works
I have no idea how this app is supposed to work. I read and watched all the notes on the website and I still have no idea. I don’t even know what the app can and can’t do. There’s no way to just explore and figure some basic stuff out like I can with most apps.
Aw, dang. Doesn’t launch 7th gen.
I’m sure the app is incredible given Sparseals track record and it’ll likely get even better with time! Sadly, it won’t launch on my iPad 7the gen. Looks like it’s finally time to upgrade. I’ll refund it for now and buy it again once I do.
Best of luck dev! I’ll keep my review positive and I really hope this app succeeds!
