Responsive Developer, still needs improvement

qwamemensah on

This app continues to be updated and is now on par with the old, deprecated Unit 1 Faro app that was developed for the original Faro helmet. The dev team and support are really responsive, so if you have an issue, be sure to contact them. It took me a while to figure out the the turn signal settings on the new app are with the remote's settings, not the helmet's [as with the old app]. There are some new feature (all devices on/off using the remote) that are nice addtions.

Bad U/I

Ka_tet on

The user interface is confusing and not user-friendly. The helmet is geared towards super tech savvy people only. I don't recommend this device for most people.

App buggy and unreliable

Shellsbells106 on

This app is very buggy and will not reliably connect to my helmet and lights. It is very difficult to program the helmet and lights with the app. I have deleted and re-downloaded the app several times to try to resolve this, to no avail. Terrible app.

Won’t update firmware

MikeyBNguyen on

United States

I bought the FARO as a backup to my Lumos Matrix. I never did like the original app because I felt it was pretty clunky to use. Now I receive a notification that the old app was discontinued and I have to use this new one. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work. I tried updating the firmware for my FARO and it just freezes. Not only that, I can’t even change the settings on my FARO helmet anymore. The new app is worse than the old one. Sorry, but if you need a smart helmet that has a working app, stick to Lumos. I wasted $180 on a bricked helmet.

Great App

I purchased 2 smart lights and a Unit 1 turn signal controller for my ebike. In the beginning I was hesitant about the app due to the reviews. But it appears a lot of the negative reviews may be lack of knowledge on the app. I talked to Manuel with the Unit 1 team and had him walk me through the customization of the app. How to customize each light and preset. Once you understand how to control the app you really do unlock the full potential of these awesome lights. My advice is to create your own preset for the headlight and taillight so that each time you turn them on, they’re already on your custom mode and ready to go. No complaints here. Shout out to Manuel from the Unit 1 team, it is clear they are passionate about the product and their customers.

Not impressed

Couldn’t connect new Nav Remote with Faro helmet.Tryed a bunch of times with no success. Then discovered the new app you have in the Apple App Store. Now I have them connected. But unlike the old app where you could go through each option ( front light, hidden light, turn signals) .You have nothing! Very confusing

App Bad Helmet Good

The Don DB on

United States

The app is terrible. Disconnect issues. The custom preset appear to save in the app but they don’t push to helmet. Tried a basic custom preset to have front light off, solid back on and/or front and back solid on .. but again it doesn’t push through to helmet and constantly strobes as if it’s stuck on the other presets.

Broken App

Moosetracksforge on

United States

App does not connect my turn signal controller to my helmet or wireless lights. Useless products if the app doesn’t work.

It needs some improvement
