needs more work to be considered usable
Still missing functionality (e.g. using the front-facing camera, using portrait orientation, and various things in the Mac app that this is a companion to) but it’s a good start, and I look forward to improvements down the line. At first I had the same issue as the other reviewer, where it showed up black on my Mac. But after some playing I realized it’s actually just somewhat misleading: in the Mac app there are various thumbnails for different setups, and one of them mentions the iOS camera. But this doesn’t actually set the camera; you can use any camera with any preset. You’ll need to hit the camera icon (bottom center of video) to switch to the connected phone.
I noticed this as a new app on SetApp and, needing something like it, was excited. When I set it up with my extra 6S+ (iOS 15.2.1) it connects right away but shows a blank screen. The app can switch between the phones front and back camera quickly, but again, is simply a black screen on the Mac. So… ultimately this is a disappointing app I’m glad I didn’t have to pay for.
