UTM SE: Retro PC emulator

I was using Windows XP just for fun and then I was like let's install the mems virus luckily it was a virtual machine and has I seen my screen caving in on itself after I launched it and allowed the administrator. I was like yippee so this is amazing

Just buy a computer for 100$

Might be ok to run arm but x86 emulation is too slow to use by a factor of several thousand.

would be amazing for apple to support jit offically buts its a closed company that doesnt listen to customers feedback.

Even with apple’s policies limiting speed and making anything modern impractical there’s still a lot to try

love UTM. we just need JIT for faster emulation, and then you are set. Good job

I tried six different operating systems, tried some of the prebuilts, and absolutely nothing took me to a desktop screen. This app was an entire waste of my time. Will not recommend.

Tried aarm64 ubuntu server but UTM gets like hung even before attempting to load the image. Running on a vanilla iPad Pro 11 3rd gen (A2377). Would be awesome it if worked -with 8GB and an 8 core M1 it should be enough to run a VM in an iPad. Hopefully we see it in the next version of UTM.

It works well for older OSes but I was unable to get windows 10 or 11 working at all, installer and such would open but gets stuck on black screen! The guides on the website list windows 10 and 11 but the steps don’t align to the app. Hopefully this is something that can be fixed/added what not Keeping installed to see future progress

Keep fighting and we might actually get closer to full JIT emulation. This could change the way we use Apple device FOREVER. Much love.
