VDWrite

app is lacking off a normal file folder structure. Thus it is fine if only deal with a few files. However, when have many files, the app is very difficult to locate the right one. Because files were in the same folder.

Was not able to open any file from google drive and cloud. Sorry that i spent more than 10 dollars for something that's not working at all.

This app, just like Voice Dream reader, is a hundred miles ahead of any other app of its kind on any mobile platform. I've tried them all. This one puts them to shame. Pure genius. Thanks so much for all your hard work.

- Combine Reader & Writer into single app. - Add streamlined, no-frills in-app web browser which allows usage of voices from Reader ( see Writing Kit). - Add different font and background options (again, see Writing Kit). - Improve document format controls (spacing, alignment, etc.). The above improvements (app combing and web browser with voices especially) would make this app bad-a**. As it stands, it's "okay," but has potential.

A powerful word processor built with visually impaired users in mind. Great outline and spell-checker features to my knowledge unique to this app. Excited for future developments.

The automatic outliner, the dictionary/word finder and the proof reading put this in a class of its own. But it also has other features that recommend it. You can use simple markdown and export to word and rich text and customize the font size and audio characteristics. It also gives you an easy to use file manager. If you are visually impaired, the features added to enhance editing when using VoiceOver make navigating and selecting for cutting, copying and pasting much better than stock VoiceOver. There is room for improvement, but these developers have a history of improving their apps. (Check out Voice Dream Reader, an app I have used for years.)

This writing app is helpful in ways that don’t compare with any other app I’ve found. On the ipad, you have a centered,uncluttered writing space. To each side are panels that are pulled into view. The left panel automatically produces an outline of whatever you are writing composed of each heading and paragraph. You can reorder and delete each item. The left panel reveals an on-going definition, homonym, and synonym of each word you type. As you type, each word is spoken back to you as well as entire sentence. Why is all this so fantastic? Because it gives you a perspective on your own writing beyond that of your own subjectivity in the moment. Do you know the difference between sensing how you look, and viewing a photo of how you look? There’s a difference, right? This app is the only app that provides this difference while you are in the process of writing. You might think it gets in the way of writing, but I’ve found that it improves my insight into what I’m really trying to say. Compared to the countless writing apps available, this writing app stands apart in a very good way.

I see your version update jumped from 1.7 to 2.0 just for changing a name. For real? Anyways, I don’t understand why you’d abandon a very popular name like “voice dream writer.” VDWrite sound so ordinary and very boring. At least your keeping the iconic logo. But I sincerely hope you reverse the decision to change the name.

Solely for the awesome synonym-finder in the fourth column on the far right. This is exactly what I need for creative writing! Glad the app still works!
