Can’t wait for more updates
I love this app! I recently read Pastor Nate Pickowicz’s “How to Eat Your Bible” and came across his recommendation of downloading Bible Memory Pro. Not 100% sure this is the same app, but I ended up enjoying this immensely! Memorizing Scripture creatively helps me remember easier.
I do wish the voice for the reading out feature would be of a real person’s in the next update and not robot siri 😆
Making it easier to be accountable to myself.
I love the type it option.
It help to give the instant feedback and grounds the tricky parts of a verse in my brain.
I also really love the expand the passage option. It makes it so much easier to memorize larger passages.
Worth the $9.99
I like having a storage spot for all my “goal verses” but also I like the tools. The tap to play out the words is especially good. They use every device I used to use on paper with pen, and give positive feedback with streak ratings etc.
ESV missing text
For instance, was going to memorize Ephesians. Made it to verse 5 before I noticed that words were missing. Very frustrating to use an app to memorize scripture and it’s not reliable. Be warned.
Great Start!
I like having an app that helps me memorize Scripture. Though it gives you some activities to help reinforce these scriptures, there are not many.
Tap to reveal is just tapping the screen and a segment of a sentence appears up to the next punctuation mark. Truthfully, I didn’t get anything out of this.
Listen allows you to hear someone read the verses you are memorizing. That really didn’t do anything for me either.
Reorder is dragging the scripture pieces into the right position in the verse. This one helped a little, but not much.
Work Bank is a four level activity. Each level exposes more blanks to fill in until there a no words there at all. This helped quite a bit.
Type Out is tapping on the first letter of such word until the verse is completed. I liked this one too.
Speak Out (Beta) has issues. The beta doesn’t always pick up the words you speak and there are even times when the words you speak show up without saying them, showing you got it wrong or it not picking up the word at all. Though this would be extremely helpful, it was actually a bit frustrating that it didn’t work well.
I kind of wish there were other activities that would give you a flash card option, quiz option or some other interactive games to randomly show a verse.
When learning successive verses in a chapter, it doesn’t show the verse numbers, so if you’re not careful, you will learn the verse, without knowing what the address is.
I also found it a bit frustrating to be able to see all the verses I was working on show up in “My Passages” list, nor could I get some of them to show up.
I like the option of creating collections.
There is a section for learning creeds and catechisms, but truthfully unless you are Catholic, these are a bit useless to me.
I like the option to learn the order of the Old Testament and New Testament, but I found that when ordering the books, sometimes the option would drop at the top when I intended it to go somewhere else.
To make this app more appealing, it would be so much better to have more activities so that the app doesn’t get boring. It’s the same ole, same ole.
Don’t Do the Subscription Option
I really wanted to unlock the other translations, so I purchased the subscription. It had offered me a 30 day free trial, yet automatically charged my card, and didn’t unlock those translations. I tried clicking restore purchases, and it says it’s restoring, but it doesn’t restore. I logged out and now it cannot find my account, so I did the forgot password option, and it has been almost an hour, and I haven’t received a password reset option. I emailed the company, but after looking at the reviews, I doubt I’ll get a reply. I’ll do a charge back through my bank since this seems like a major failure. I just found Versify, which is free, for the translation I wanted. I’ll stick with that one.
Incredibly Helpful
I always found memorizing scripture difficult and thought I was unable to do it. This app changed that! The methods used have given me the privilege of hiding God’s word in my heart! I am forever grateful!
Best way to memorize scripture hands down
The verses app instantly leveled up my verse memorization. The app has given me the tools to memorize small verses to entire chapters in just a couple of minutes.
With the additional groups feature, the app is perfect for friends or small groups to check in on each other’s progress and keep each other accountable.
I would easily recommend the small payment that unlocks all Bible versions. This is a tool that I’ll be using for the rest of my life and I’m grateful for the team who has put it together!
