Yes, VERSUS is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is VERSUS legit?
✅ The VERSUS app appears to be high-quality and legitimate. Users are very satisfied.
The whole first book was JUST WORLDBUILDING. There was nothing for you to do besides determine your characters values such as genuine or not. You are not included in much action at all in the whole story and in the end, this should’ve been free to play if the author really wanted to make it as a pilot episode type book. Haven’t played the rest of the books so if you don’t plan on completing the series, don’t buy.
10/10
A great game, definitely worth the buy! Very excited to continue the story
AMAZING!!
I thought about getting the game for a while before getting it, but when I got it it was a-ma-ing! I 95% Recommended, it has awesome story telling, great characters, feels like a real book, and it is not too random on teleporting like the other reviews say. The *random* teleporting has a reason.
Have a good day!
I like weird, but...
This was just too weird for me. But I guess if you like absolutely no character development, a sidekick who’s in a coma for basically the entire book, and frequent random teleportations that make you wonder if the protag is just hopped up on drugs the whole time, then read on. But be warned- the basic plot is you getting dropped off on some random bloody planet and being confused the whole. freaking. time.
No actual progress further than that, and the parts with some action have no real risks. There’s just more backstory than I would care to swallow, and I felt myself skipping paragraphs upon paragraphs of some random planet’s history or whatever.
Probably not going to buy the next book.
Don't hesitate!
I'm a big fan of the Heroes saga but I hesitated on Versus based off of reviews saying the story and wording was too confusing. In my opinion, if you're open minded or have read any Sci-Fi novels, you'll be fine. I highly recommend this!
Awesome game
I have never reviewed a game before but this one is just to cool not to and I just hop there are many more to come
AMAZING sci-if/fantasy game!!
I’m a huge fan of interactive novels and games, but I find most of them to lack either compelling writing or reader choices that can actually change the plot and outcome. This game lacks neither, and is easily worth its price!! I’m writing this in the hope that CoG releases many more Versus installments because I’m not ready to walk away from this story :)
Great Read
LOVED the story. Totally worth the cost. For sure.
Amazing
Very good game! Lots of replay-ability!
Don't Delay!
I cannot emphasize enough how good this was. Truly one of the best interactive novels I've come across. Fascinating plot points, diverse characters, significant choices... Honestly what more do you need? I'm happy to say it was well-written. Can't wait for the next!
