Great addition to VLC Player

Eireman_on_Twitch on

The biggest plus is the fact that it supports Picture In Picture out of the box, which important to some (me) as I prefer multitasking. I’ve had no issue with local or cloud files in AVI, MP4/M4A, or MKV formats, and it plays x.264 and x.265 natively. My only negative is that it doesn’t register as a native application for “sharing” from the Files tool. You need to add from within the app itself, though linking it to my folder was a snap. iPhone 12 Pro Max, iOS 18.2.

Cannot add multiple files to playlist

I paid for premium and THEN found out you can only add 1 file at a time to a playlist. Very disappointed.

Allows Picture in Picture

Great app for watching downloaded movies in most formats. I do have a problem with the app’s cache not clearing. All my videos are in the Files app and I have nothing saved, but the app is still using over 7GB of storage w

Good app for watch and download videos

Decent app, but has a crash and is missing vital feature

Damariobros on

United States

If you try to open the share menu for any video the app instantly crashes. Also the app is missing the ability to export saved videos to Photos… in the case of this app going defunct, it is vital that videos be able to be saved to Photos so they are not lost. Decent app, and good replacement for the previous app I was using that disappeared, but needs a lot of work. Update: the new update did not fix the crash. Update 2: Thanks for fixing the crash!

Waste of time.

App is not opening on iPad Pro. Reinstalled, it helped. But after a couple of hours it again stopped opening. Please, fix this problem.

Uhhh…. Lines through the screen?

stl5n0 on

United States

Downloaded this app to play a 10 bit x265 file because I do video editing/cinematography. There were small dashed lines through the video like ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ Yeah. Pretty obnoxious huh?

Perfect, except…

Pursuit8478 on

This app is perfect for my needs. it allows me to play local videos while in picture in picture, something that VLC for iOS fails to do. However: this app has a slight bug in which the home bar — which indicates to swipe up to go home — does not disappear when playing video. this bug needs to be fixed, then it would be the best app for playing videos :)
