Scammers
Again, like a well know company, in minutes I was approached by scammers. It doesn’t seem as well protected as some if you’re a seller on there. Wouldn’t recommend.
Well, it doesn’t work
It doesn’t seem capable of searching, at least not in a way that gives me any confidence! The filters don’t work. It sets up stupid alerts you don’t want. Nice concept (Gumtree/weird eBay, basically) but I can’t bear to use the app.

Feels like a scam!
In the midst of moving house, I forgot to cancel the annual subscription of £49.99. (Bear in mind I only had the app for 4 days and didn’t buy or sell anything!). Attempted to do so on the day, Village are being passive aggressive, have disabled my ability to contact them and are not responding to anything anymore. VILLAGE - HOW DO YOU JUSTIFY TAKING A YEARS SUBSCRIPTION FROM SOMEONE WHO DOES NOT WANT TO USE YOUR SERVICES BEYOND DAY 1?? Whatever happened to the right to change your mind? Or just extend some grace and understanding to someone who is currently overwhelmed and just forgot to press the button to cancel by 1 day, WILL NOT be making use of your services and has already cancelled their subscription? Please issue my refund, I am now pleading with you…….

They charge money and nothing changes. They’re a scam.
Poor, possibly scam site
People selling do not respond. Village Help do not respond. I suspect this is a scam site only interested in getting the payment when you put in an offer. You are better off buying or selling through Facebook Marketplace.
AVOID - hidden costs and inappropriate users
Seriously, this app is morally wrong. I used it briefly to try and sell stuff, and it quickly transpired that people use it as a dating/stalking app. Beware also the hidden costs.
Expensive, clunky
I wanted to set up a local shop but it’s stupidly expensive for a local buying app, I pay less to host a real website. You also don’t get much for it to help sell, just 25% off boosts. Take one look at an item and the app automatically starts a chat, you are then hammered with notifications about it. So far not made a single sale despite thousands of views. Overall could do better.

I had an interaction with a very dodgy customer today who was interested in purchasing from me! After trying and trying they were unsuccessful. I reported them straight away and the admin team here are brilliant. They gave me the best advice and the outcome was great! No playing, no asking, no chances..... Other organisations should follow suit 😌😇👏🏽🙌🏽👌🏽👍🏽
