VistaCCD

Published by: Kal Designs

Description

PCA Engineers brings preliminary design of turbo compressor impellers to your fingertips.

VistaCCD gives users the key dimensions and achievable efficiency for any turbo compressor stage operating with perfect gas. Taking as constraints the target design point performance and gas inlet conditions, VistaCCD performs a meanline design calculation using well-validated empirical relationships for work factor and achievable efficiency, corrected for Reynolds number and tip clearance effects. The user can vary input parameters to optimise performance within specific dimensional constraints, guided by the visual feedback from the efficiency correlation and the 2D sketch of the impeller.

This app will certainly be of interest to engineers involved in developing new compressor designs. Equally it will be relevant to those applying turbo compressors to turbochargers, industrial compressors and small gas turbines, giving users a better appreciation of the impact of design constraints.
