IMPORTANT: Before buying this app, consider the new apps that covers Vitamin K: INR Assist. Vitamin K is one of 10 iNutrient apps based on the USDA National Nutrient Database. The others include:

Users can record their intake for any food. The information is maintained for one year and is presented in reverse chronological order grouped by day, so the latest data is presented first in the list. Editing allows for: 1) changing the number of servings; 2) changing the date; and 3) deleting records. Individual Intake Items can be copied to the current day, and all Intake Items for a single day can be copied to the current day.
If you take blood thinning medications like Coumadin(R) or Warfarin, then this is an app you will truly make use of on a regular basis.

The Vitamin K app provides information about foods and how they are rated for Vitamin K content. This is provided as a means to assist in deciding which foods to eat if you are using blood thinning medications such as Coumadin or Warfarin. The food servings are rated from NO Vitamin K all the way up to EXTREMELY HIGH in Vitamin K. The following colors help readily identify which is which:
- Black = Rated EXTREMELY HIGH in Vitamin K (700.0 - 1146.6 mcg)
- Dark Red = Rated VERY HIGH in Vitamin K (300.0 - 699.9 mcg)
- Red = Rated HIGH in Vitamin K (25.0 - 299.9 mcg)
- Orange = Rated MODERATELY HIGH in Vitamin K (20.0 - 24.9 mcg)
- Yellow = Rated MODERATE in Vitamin K (15.0 - 19.9 mcg)
- Light Green = Rated MODERATELY LOW in Vitamin K (10.0 - 14.9 msg)
- Green = Rated LOW in Vitamin K (5.0 - 9.9 mcg)
- Cyan = Rated VERY LOW in Vitamin K (0.1 - 4.9 mcg)
- White = Rated EXTREMELY LOW in Vitamin K (0.0 mcg)

Selecting a food in any of the tables will display pertinent information about the selected food serving:

- Weight (in grams)
- Common Measure (serving size for weight)
- Vitamin K Content (in mcg)

- USDA Description
- USDA Food Group
- USDA Nutrient Database Number
Information is derived from the USDA National Nutrient Database for Standard Reference: Vitamin K Content of Selected Foods per Common Measure. There are currently over 930 different foods included, searchable using approximately 2,500 names (some foods are known by different names or how they are prepared, e.g., "Egg, Fried" and "Fried Egg"). A few these have as many as six searchable names.

Icon opens briefly, but then nothing happens. Have tried the fixes suggested by author and sent queries via his website, all to no avail. Stuck having had the credit card transaction go through and no working app. Shame because after nearly dying from a clot, I thought this would be great to have on hand.
Trash. Do not buy.
Bought the app and tried to search a food. The search was unintuitive and the app didn’t have the food I wanted, which is a common food that a lot of people eat daily. I tried to look through the food list and the app crashed. Waste of $3. Seems like this app is a scam to prey on people who are trying to monitor their Vitamin K intake 🤬
Great idea, still needs work
I was looking for something to help me track my Vitamin K intake since getting out of the hospital & now having to be on Coumadin for life due to a repeat of multiple blood clots. I am Heterozygous for FVL & was a vegetarian before all this. Dr’s & nutritionists have been helping to make the change since I can no longer be a full time vegetarian.
This app is a great idea, but I still missing things & I still haven’t figured out how to log my Vitamin K intake with it so I don’t go over 90mcg at the max intake. My Hematologist & Coumadin specialist both have told me to not have so much Vitamin K everyday & when I got to looking for a way to track my intake, came across this app & 1 other. This app had a rating review than the other.
If this app could be a easier to navigate for logging your intake, it would be more widely used and shared. I know of tons of other people on Coumadin who would love to be able to use something like this, but I won’t share the hassle until this is easier to use.
Needs some crucial work. Otherwise good.
This can be a crucial tool for folks new to the drug regime. K is obviously critical but instructions from hospitals are complicated and way too simplistic. This can be great for traveling or eating out to help with choices.
MUST STOP CONFUSION. Coumadin is just one of several brand names for the warfarin sodium generic. It may be the most advertised, so popular, but doctors and hospitals are not tied to that brand. AND the pill shapes, colors and codes are all different. Look up the code on the pill. But they’re all subject to Vitamin K issues.
PUT THE COLOR CODE ON THE APP AS A LEGEND. It’s not obvious and I don’t want to keep looking it up. Make it CLEAR.
WE ALL EAT A COLLECTION OF FAVORITE FOODS GENERALLY and then try other stuff now and then. Would be great if you could click a food that would then populate a Favorites category. More complex app development, yes, but would make usage much easier.
Not sure what good it is
I'm sure this app was designed with the best intentions. Once you figure it out you can look up what you ate and get an idea of how much K is in it. However - it's difficult to use.
What it's good for - looking up something that you have a question about. Not really good for recording daily intake - yet.
Can't wait to see it tweaked.
Great for a Cruise
Great app that works offline. No internet required. Color coding makes it a breeze to understand. Mom takes warfarin & we are going on a cruise. This app is perfect! Thank you!
Worked well
App worked well. A bit slow to respond to food category changes, but nice to have handy on iPhone for someone new to Vit. K restrictions.
Would be nice to show color chart of degrees of Vit. K on each page.

I like that this app adds up and shows your total daily vitamin K intake so that you can compare it to other days in the week have some more clear numbers of when and how much vit-K you took to tell your health care provider at anticoagulation management to assist them with determining your warfarin dose. Pretty large database of foods too. Very useful. :)
