Love the voices platform

I’m sure it has potential. I could just be an idiot but how’re you supposed to find work if you can’t even view any of the public jobs without spending $500 on the yearly premium membership.

It’s convenient to have the app to read specs of audition’s (when it does populate) but that’s about it. I have to click on hiring multiple times because it tells me no jobs until I hit it a few times. The saved section doesn’t update no matter how many times I hit it even when it shows the saved projects on my laptop. It always shows I have a new message when I don’t. When I did get a message it didn’t show on the app till I looked and saw it on my laptop. Also, it use to let me hear responses to projects I’ve submitted to, but now it won’t. I have to get on my laptop. It’s really disappointing that it doesn’t work better. Apps are supposed to make things more convenient but these glitches make it an unreliable source when looking for opportunities for work.

No push notifications for new auditions or messages. Messaging is buggy, it will show that there are new messages (blue dot) when there are no new messages. Leaving you with a constant concern that you are missing a message. In addition, like the website, the new auditions will not show unless you manually reload the page. A generally disappointing, useless app.

I mostly wanted this for notifications, since Voices.com notifications are pretty much just emails that sometimes don’t come through. I missed a very important message from a client because I was never notified, so I was hoping there was an app solution. I’ve been a premium member on voices for over 10 years, but recently had most of my work coming from Fiverr. The Fiverr app is pretty good, so I was hoping the Voices app would be, too, or at LEAST be able to notify me of messages. Unfortunately, this isn’t the case. This app is basically useless, it’s only real functionality is browsing jobs and responding to messages, except lord knows I wouldn’t trust it to actually send my messages. The timestamps are all wrong for some reason, I literally just sent a message at 10:45am and went into the app and it said 3:45pm (and yes, it displayed my time zone and everything). Hoping this is updated or scrapped for a brand new app (again).

I can’t complete my profile. Every time I click on any kind of ad, they say only available for upgraded premium. This is basically a scam. Pretty much can’t get any work unless you pay big money.

I log-in to the website with Apple ID. It’s a bit clunky, but it does work. However, the App fails with Apple ID. I get an error “OpenSSL unable to sign data.” Doesn’t anyone proof their work anymore? Beyond that, I can’t comment since I haven’t been able to log-in to the app. It seems to me that people browsing for talent should be able to see the app without creating an account first. Another example of bad management.

Reputable clients, easy to use format

You can read and reply to messages maybe. It’s so close to be really useful but without the ability to open private invites auditions, or upload files or even view from Awarded jobs makes it useless (almost). Frustrating to be close to what you need and not be able to do it. Alright- break out the laptop. Can’t wait for it to be functional tho!
