Volleyball Stat! is a full-featured app for collecting and distributing volleyball statistics on your tablet. The app can be used to collect stats for an unlimited number of different teams each of which may have an unlimited number of players. It can also be used simply for score keeping and as a scoreboard.
The application is straightforward to use; stats are recorded by tapping on buttons that are grouped according to the player’s position on the floor. Players automatically rotate through positions, so the app can be used as a simple rotation tracker. In addition, each player can be configured for the position they play after the serve. So after initially being in the correct rotational position, players will move to the position they play through the rest of the point.
All major stats are recordable by a single button click. In addition most major stats have details that are recorded by tap on hold on a major stat button. In total, you can collect over 70 different statistics.
The interface is extensively customizable; colors, players and buttons can all be easily changed. Hence the app can be as easily used for 2 person beach as for 6 person indoor or even 9 (or more) person games. Every stat recording button can be defined to appear or not. In addition, buttons can be configured to appear situationally. Also, every detail button can be configured to be recordable with a single button click. Taking this ability to the illogical extreme, each playing position can be configured to have about 70 buttons. At the other extreme, playing positions can be configured to have no buttons at all.
Stats for an unlimited number of matches can be stored and later retrieved for review. While reviewing, stats can be shown for a single match, or any set of matches up to every match recorded. Stats can be easily shared: to instances of this app on other tablets, to spreadsheets, to MaxPreps, and HTML email.
Data recoded using the app can freely exchanged with other instances of the app using either email or cloud storage apps.

This is a great app - relatively simple to use and great reporting that includes easy to understand stat definitions. My only personal annoyance and criticism is that the ability to email or download PDF versions of reports recently stopped working.
Good stat tracker, Voice Input bad
Been using this stat tracker for years now and it’s pretty good in comparison to the other scoring apps which aren’t free. You can put a lot of details into how each point is scored, for example. However, I just paid $.99 for the voice input and it doesn’t seem to work consistently. This is why I am not giving you five stars. Please fix this new feature and I will revisit my review. Thanks.
Needs refinement
Not a bad tracker, even on phone. But breaks the Alexa app. Gets stuck in a loop with a pop up that Alexa wants to open it.
Great app even for volleyball stat newbies
Love this app! Just started taking stats this year. Took a few matches to get comfortable, but now keep stats for the high school teams. Tracks tons of stuff. Great, detailed instructions. Seems to do everything the expensive apps do.
Very well thought out
Easy to use and clearly designed by a coach who knows volleyball. The most configurable app out there and I will recommend it to all of our club and HS coaches. Great program!
App Not recording errors
After installing update last week on my new iPad, version 8.4.1, this app is no longer recording all stats: no serving errors, no dig errors, no assists, no block errors, no attack errors???
Help! This is an AWESOME app when working, but has been rendered unusable. I have used this app this entire season up to last week....about 25 matches that all worked fine.
Won't open on original iPad - Excellent Customer Service
With the last 2 updates, the program will no longer run on an original iPad. It opens to a white screen and crashes immediately, even after deleting and re-downloading. I hope the next version fixes this.
UPDATE: After contavcting the developer, I received a very quick response, as well as the last vcersion compatable with iOS 5.1.1. Very responsive, excellent, customer service for a very nice program!
Reports aren't recording
I recently updated my I-Pad and after doing it when I went to Volleyball Stats it said that there was an upgrade to. After updating my program no longer works like it has for years. The recording play screen was different so I had to rearrange that and turn on and off some buttons. After that I used the program for a match and during the game when I checked the report it showed none of the individual stats I had been recording. Tonight I tried the program again and none of the green positive or red negative buttons recorded any points.
I love this program and have recommended it to many people but am very frustrated with the lack of being able to use it now. Can you please let me know what I can do to correct?
Seems to be working now
Just tried it at home. It appears to be working.
Thank you for the fix. Missed one match though. Now we're ready to go!
Please fix!!
Used to work really well, now pretty much everything is broken, starting from player names not displayed in their boxes, custom configuration of buttons not being saved right (row position of sub-buttons), and judging from other reviews, stats not being recorded correctly. I had a really sweet custom config allowing me to capture detailed serve, serve receive and hitting stats very effectively, but the app is now completely broken. Please fix!
