Can you make a way for instances to show at the top of the page instead of after the photo? I scroll by looking at instances and skip past the ones I don’t care about. Having the instance at the top would be more efficient so I don’t scroll down then back up. When you swipe to left on accident and get to the page with all the communities, there is no way to go back. You literally have start at the top and again and scroll until you’re back where you were at.
The best Lemmy app out there!
I am not a native speaker, sometimes I need to translate the word I don’t know. It provides a way to easily and freely select words and copy them. I really appreciate it! It’s a perfect app, I cannot pick out any flaws!
I have been using Voyager in Test Flight for a long time. I could not have tolerated lemmy without it. However, after I lost all of my settings randomly one day including ever single bit of info I need to recover my account I have to say this: Voyager is okay, but it ain’t Apollo. In all my years of using Apollo, it never once blew all my settings away. Admittedly, If it did, I probably wouldn’t have remembered since Reddit had none of the issues Lemmy had, and while you, the reader, may be tempted to argue, It is on either the app developer or the platform developer to ensure this scenario does not happen…like ever. I do use a password manager, but iOS does not have great support for third part password managers. Is that Voyager’s fault? Mostly not, however, the one reason Voyager gets this negative review is that for YEARS I have used Apollo and I never ran into an issue like this. Thankfully, this “issue” made me quit lemmy as well, which is good, I guess? The only social network U still use is Bluesky. Great job Lemmy? Please note that I put out a bounty on my account recovery, but I guess nobody likes money. Don’t use apps that wipe your settings on a whim. This one does, so stay away. This isn’t an insult to the developers, btw. 90% of the time they do a decent job, however, what donI do when they don’t? I should add that this issue hit everyone I know that uses Voyager. I was the only one that used Test flight and 8 of use used Voyager, all lost all our settings, nobody admits to seeing a warning and only 3 were able to recover their accounts (had lemmy not had distributed URLS that number would be 5, which is the reason I absolutely blame Lemmy as wellI don’t need to manually enter IP addresses when grabbingUbuntu off Bittorrent, despite the fact my tracker requires authentication, why do I had to remember 3 different pieces of info for Lemmy?!?) …Oh and I think all teams are doing a decent job, but they really need to focus on the user rather than cloning something. Lemmy is a toxic hellscape of a place. It tropes to replace Reddit but somehow ends up being significantly more hostile and an even bigger echo chamber. That being said, I have tried most of the Lemmy clients out there for iOS and hands down, Voyager is the best.
If you know, you know.
Let me start by saying that this app is amazing. Voyager is a nearly (explained later) feature-complete Lemmy viewing app. I used to use Memmy, but switched to this one for a much more clean and smooth experience. I prefer this app above all others in almost every way… Except one. It’s bewildering to me that Voyager doesn’t show you anyone’s profile pictures. Not on posts, not in comment threads, not even in profiles! I tried looking through my settings to see if there was some display option turned off, but nope. It’s just not a feature. I would love to rate this app 5 stars, but the fact that it is lacking this very basic feature brings it down to 4. Hopefully the devs see this comment and will implement profile picture support sometime soon. I will happily update this to 5 stars if they do.
Not sure what happened but downloaded app, verified email, attempted log in and was banned. Next message said doesn’t have work on rooted phones. Guess I didn’t read the instructions properly? I even gave a tip when downloading.
Voyager is a great replacement for Apollo for Reddit. All functionality I used to use in Apollo is here and works beautifully. Fast performance and rock-solid stability. Keep up the great work!
