Wallbox Service App

Doesnt work. Non existent support. BMW dropping the ball here

I ended up with this “app” from the BMW Wallbox user manual. It is a total joke. Avoid the BMW Wallbox at all costs. Can’t even pair with the Wallbox (no Bluetooth PIN), pops up an authentication screen with an unknown password. Even the “reset password” link just pops up a dialog that says “enter a restore key” or something like that, with no information on what that even means. The main issues here belong to BMW, but it doesn’t charge the fact the app itself is clueless and useless. Chinese trash in this case. FYI - BMW themselves say, when cornered on this, that the app isn’t supported outside China. So why does this app even exist in the App Store here? It should be purged.

It states you can turn the LED light down, but when I move it from 100% to 30% it does nothing. In short, have not found this usable at all.

Having a separate app for the Wallbox is pretty confusing. Use the QR code to login and adjust the required amps for your charging. My electrician recommended 32A on a 40A breaker. This Wallbox is connected via Bluetooth, so the app will only work when you are near by. The app itself doesn’t have much doing, so I just set the max output and called it a day.

App keeps getting disconnected and doesn’t even allow me to charge for once seconds. Just installs the actual outlet and save your money.

No installation guide in the box. This app disconnects from device. Need to disconnect and pair every time. Nothing useful in the app.

For the price I paid for this box and the issues connecting is pathetic. It has asked me to download the 9.50 version 10 times successfully and still shows that I have to download it.

Totally worthless have no way to pair to this. Support page in Chinese.
