I preferred the old app or format - I hate hate hate how the stories appear over and over an over throughout. Old opinions featured with new. Old articles featured with new. No clear sections really. It’s a jumble. I’m considering unsubscribing. You can scroll down and see the same story many times. I am 57 for reference. Thank you for listening.
This app was a nicer way of presenting WaPo’s content and I liked it more than the new app. This version was cleaner and easier to read on my iPad.
I open the app, go to top stories and what pops up as top story of the day in the wash post? Some dopy recipe for 4th of july cookies. The NYT puts the top story at the top, as the Post used to. Wha happen? Angus Phillips Ex-columnist the Wash Post
Never should have gotten rid of this version. Way better than the new one.
The app has forced an update. I receive a mediagenic that my content has been upgraded to the new app. That means I no longer have access because my iPad is too old for the faceid
The new app/ most recent layout changes are abysmal. Why is the text rendered in reverse (white text with black background)? I have found this format difficult to read. Frankly, it gives me a headache.
Really hate the winter 2022 app as it’s trying to be the old newspaper “home page” layout for an iPad. Don’t get it. Type is way smaller even at max size. Can’t take glasses off and read this in bed. Quite sad. Switching to NYTimes. At least they get legibility
This news app was by far my most favorite due to the innovative layout and modern look. Then all of a sudden, it was deprecated in favor of the traditional WaPo app (the one w/ the black icon), which is downright boring comparatively speaking. Will still be a daily reader, but the modern look and feel is what made the blue icon WaPo a news app I looked forward to using, and one that doesn't try to replicate the cumbersome "folder newspaper" look that other newspaper apps all utilize. Even deprecated, it's still worth 4 stars.
Otherwise it’s toast. So, it’s Goodbye to the Post.
