Description

Watch Tuner is a mechanical and automatic watch testing application designed to measure following parameters:
- rate
- beat error
- amplitude
- beats per hour
The application uses the build-in or headset microphone to record audible ticks of the watch.
You can measure now with your iPhone the quality and stability of the rate accuracy, amplitude and beat error of mechanical watch movements. You can also take advantage of results history.
Use in a quiet environment. Any ambient noises can affect result accuracy. Complete silence is the best.
Recommended way to record the ticks is to touch the crown of the watch with the headset microphone. You will get the best results using original Apple EarPods.
If you don't need such advanced tool as Watch Tuner and all you need is to the check rate accuracy, maybe it's worth to try Watch Tuner Lite - a little brother of Watch Tuner application.
If you need frequency diagram look at Watch Tuner Timegrapher - the most sophisticated app of Watch Tuner series.

Long Case Pendulum Clock

kickkey on

Seams to have worked well in setting the beat using the beat error and rate measurement functions. Supposedly anything between 10 & 20 ms beat error is acceptable on a long case pendulum clock but I was able to get down to an avg of 7ms with 10200 samples. App is useless at measuring BPH due to the lack of a decimal reading in the BPH measurement. Had to use a stopwatch and manually count them. Changed the pendulum nut three full turns but BPH never changed. Read 3600 then entire time although manual measurement started at 3660 and ended at 3600. Please update app to add two decimal places to the BPH measurement.

Needs a reset button and better accuracy

Couldn’t get a consistent Bph. Registered as high as 66600 and I know that’s not possible especially on a simple manual wind caravelle. Ok value for the money but I’ll have to get an electronic one if I really want to regulate a watch Needs a reset button!!!!!!!

Love this app!!

It's been a year since the last update while the developers other 2 watch timer apps received numerous updates, the latest 2 weeks ago. Maybe the developer forgot about this paid app?
