Can I have a refund? This is crap
It’s hard to detect the sound. If you could manually select the correct bph, it would work great. The problem is that it’s tracking the wrong frequency most of the time Tips: - Find the quietest place you can - Use earbuds with a built in mic - Place on a cushion or bed to reduce vibration - Put the mic underneath the watch with the watch-back sitting on top of the mic OR if you can remove the back, place the mic directly on the movement (very carefully) - While it’s in position, make a recording in the “voice memos” app and see if it picked up the sound of the watch. - Reposition the mic and make more recordings until the sound of the watch is as clear and loud as possible, then run the app - As soon as it shows “beats per hour”, if it doesn’t match the beats per hour for your moment (can be found online), then start over. Restart the test until it shows the correct bph. Then it should work quickly.
With an iPhone X I could not pick up the sound of my mechanical watch. I played with the setting sensitivity and that still did not yield any favourable results. Save your money and get something else.
Impractical. Virtually impossible to use in a city apartment without collecting ambient road noise or your fridge ticking or whatever. Save your money and time—you lose more time on the app than your watch ever will.
Very difficult to make it work. When it does work the mic is so sensitive that a Moises fart disrupts the whole thing.
Waste of money! My antique clock is quite loud and is fairly accurate. This app can't even detect it properly. I can hear it 20 feet away!
Once you get the sensitivity dialled in it does a pretty good job. Works much better with a good headset microphone.
