I love tracking what I drink as part of my overall health. This app integrates nicely in to other apps from this developer so I bought the pro version.
The only problem is the watch app is a little lacking.
The complication in the face is basic. Most other drink apps have a progress filling icon. This app makes my watch face look messy.
But the worst part of the watch app is that there’s no way to add a custom drink. I can’t select drink type and select the volume. I can only add predefined drinks. Again, this is a basic feature on most other drink apps I’ve used in the past.
I’m going to stick with this for now as I use another app by the developer and want them to integrate. But the above is the difference between 5* and 3*. The watch app lets the main app down.
Bugs!!
Overall a pretty good app especially as there is no subscription system. However widgets have a horrible thick blackboard around them wasting valuable stream space. I’m sure this wasn’t the case before the last couple of updates and needs to be sorted as it’s very offputting. There is no feedback to developer, so one is forced to leave feedback here.
Alfa
I think this is a great app. I have just downloaded it and it looks really good.
Settings don’t work
App ok for logging liquid intake but setting won’t allow edits. Full version paid for but doesn’t do what it says.
Lost weight since I started using the app but I can’t edit weight in settings also defaults to 1400ml despite changing. Only really useful as a reminder and liquid log.
No support possible either, no response to queries!
Good but buggy.
The App is good in general but seems to have some annoying bugs; the basic goal for the day changes back to 1400ml despite setting it to any other quantity the previous day; and it does this for each day.
The dehydration/balance indicator makes no sense at times, showing dehydrated status desite being significantly over the intake goal at the given moment.
Though the price for the pro version is reasonable, one would still expect it to function well having paid.
Great app for logging water intake
This app is great, works well. Supports logging water intake from the Apple Watch as well. The app can read water logged by other apps (for example as part of calorie tracking) this means it gives you the full picture of your hydration. I haven’t figured out yet how reminders work, instead of timed notifications, it would be really great if the app would only notify when I am behind on my expected water consumption. It may be able to to that, just haven’t figured out yet how.
The app also has functionality to track caffeine consumption (from tea or coffee typically) and metabolism but it only seems to be able to do so if coffee intake was logged from the app itself. This is a problem, because calorie counting apps need to log coffee/tea for calories and micronutrients, and logging coffee from both apps duplicates the amounts (both apps are integrated via Apple Health). As WaterNow is already able to read water data logged to Apple Health from other apps, maybe it should try to read caffeine amounts as well, and provide metabolic breakdown information based on that. This is the reason I gave the app 4 stars.
Would also be worth considering adding a feedback functionality within the app, to be able to suggest improvements.
No Dark Mode or Dark Widgets
Fantastic app, but needs improvements. Also Goal has been misspelt as Gaol.
Simply the best
This app is simply the best for registering your water intake the UI is simple but gorgeous to view.
The app is made with pure genius, this app actually makes you want to drink more water due to the shear beauty of the app you want to look at it all the time which intern encourages you to drink more
This app works effortless with thee heart and stress app which is how I came to find it as I wasn’t looking for a water intake app
Well done guy’s Genius
This is a good app!
I love using this app every day. The widget it comes with and the watch app are useful and it has a lot of customisations for your drinks.
The caffeine tracking I find particularly helpful so I know how late I can get away with drinking caffeine if I want to be able to sleep okay.
I also love how it changes the exercise goal depending on your activity level throughout the day.
My favourite thing though… is being sent to basic gaol every day. I have no criminal record so this makes me feel like a proper water-drinking badass. Please don’t correct this <3
No support
Paid for the pro feature with the intention of my caffeine intake to be pulled from apple health (as I use another app for it). Doesn’t work and there is no way to contact them. No support in app and their developer site is just a blog.
