Description

Dungeon time stops when you do: smite monsters cleverly, not by mashing buttons!
With over 350 different types of items to be found, you will keep finding novel solutions to battling over 170 different types of monsters that you will face on your journey! You have time to think, but this is no puzzler - you will have to fight your adrenaline and use your sword or staff as much as your inventory.
The procedurally-generated dungeon and vast array of possible items gives immense replay value. Some games you'll find a good weapon early, other times you'll rely on wands or potions, or some combination. Sometimes in sheer desperation you'll read a random unidentified scroll... will it be a scroll of fire that incinerates your clothes? Will it be a blessed scroll of teleportation for the ultimate escape?
If you have ever played NetHack, DCSS, etc, this game will show you a whole new form of the roguelike genre.
When you get good enough to survive to 300 feet, you will be asked to upgrade your character to access the full dungeon. This is a one-off purchase for each type of character (for example, the sorcerer and sorceress are a single type - Evil Mages). The whole game can be played with any character - you only need to purchase your favourite character(s). This can also be seen/purchased in advance under Options/Store.
Upgraded to a new device or iOS version? Just use the "Recover" button in Options/Store to get your character classes back.

Most Replayability

TacoJon on

This game has the most replayability of any game I have ever played. I had finished the game 20 times. But with the new mods, I started playing again and have finished it 20 times again. But I have still only finished with 12 characters (and still not several of the original 16).

Love it

One of my favorite Dungeoning games

Also called Rogue-like game by younger people. The game has been updated from time to time and you can try different characters to experience variations of the game. There are some helpful tips on the wiki for this game. I have played many many times and won a few times. Fun at Easter time for the Easter eggs one finds. It shouldn’t take long to figure out if this game is for you.

Pretty much impossible…

jcpole on

The game is okay, but pretty much impossible. There are minor glitches, like pets getting stuck on ladders, and Fenrir getting stuck in doorways. Even the glitches wouldn’t be bad if the game wasn’t so damned impossible. How about a version of the game that ISN’T impossible? Maybe a variable difficulty? An impossible game is no fun!

Great but problems on iPhone 13

Love the game but can’t really play it on my iPhone 13 because some menu items, such as when you open the inventory, on the left side are obscured by the black iPhone 13 cutout.

Crappy Trollgame Roguelike

The worst inventory management in a user-accessible program. Managing pets and items is terrible. Hey loo, was making an improved sequel too hard? Abandonware as the dev went on to make toddler puzzle games.

Was a Great Game

Had this game for ten years now, and the latest update is terrible, at least on an Ipad. Waz took away the ability to rearrange your spell list, getting a pet to do anything is a repeating myriad of clicks because you can’t rearrange the UI. The new quest is no great shakes. It’s like the new version had no beta testing on the Ipad. If you have lighting issues move it down to like -6, which makes no sense but helps. Give us the option to use the previous version, you can keep this one. I would have sent this direct to the developer but he took that link out of the options menu.

sorely needed update

i have been playing this game for years. i beat it dozens of times and still come back to it. i play it at the doctor's office. i use it as a palate cleanser in between epic open world pc games. i recently got a new ipad and noticed that this game was having bad lag, like it was poorly optimized for new devices. so imagine my delight when i saw waz actually did an update. the game runs super smooth now. however, some of the graphics looked weird. like the lighting was all fuzzy, but then i realized that the brightness was set to maximum in options. when i turned down the brightness, everything looked normal again. some graphics have been changed too, like a dust cloud looks like a gas cloud now and fire elementals and water elementals barely show up against the background. i see a new menu command to create custom command shortcuts which is a nice addition. I do have some complaint first is that the option to reorganize my spell list seems to have been romoved. i can't imagine why. i can no longer delete spells i have forgotten and i can no longer sort the spells list to put my most used spells at the top and it is now really annoying to scroll down the list past forgotten spells to get to the ones i want to cast. also, the touch controls are still finicky. sometimes when i tap high to make my character jump. my character will jump and then jump again and then keep jumping automatically 7 or 8 times and miss a lot of turns and if there is a monster there, it gets 10 attacks or more against me before i'm able to respond. this is unacceptable in a roguelike game where every turn matters tactically. also, the issue where i am unable to attack certain creatures like ants and rats while on a ladder is still there. also it's annoying that movement gets disabled if an enemy is in melee range. i'm not allowed to run away because the tap movement stops working so i'm pinned down, forced to fight to the death. this is not a mechanic in the pc version. also, certain achievements are impossible to achieve, especially the one to "kill every monster in the game at least once", since certain monsters don't even exist, like the hill orc. also summoning the "hacker" doesn't work on the ipad version. it works on pc, but not on ipad. it just says "there is no such thing that exists"

Love the game but…

It’s a fantastic rpg, great inventory management, interesting and easy controls to use once you’re comfortable with them, and I like the approach it takes to magic very much which is something I find a lot of rpgs struggle to do well. The dungeons are very long and there are many classes to choose from throughout the many runs you will be making in this very rogue like game. The one downside is I would really like for there to be some form of bundle for purchasing all the classes together at a possibly cheaper price instead of having to buy each separate class.
