This free, 24/7 app is constantly updated with the latest storm and forecast information for the Orlando and Central Florida areas. Plus watch live coverage of Eyewitness News and the WFTV meteorologists in Severe Weather Center 9 right on your mobile device.
By using the app’s built-in interactive radar, you can zoom down to your neighborhood, including Brevard, Flagler, Lake, Marion, Orange, Osceola, Polk, Seminole, Sumter and Volusia counties, or zoom out to check radar anywhere in the country. Location based storm alerts will direct you to the latest severe weather warnings.
The WFTV Weather App focuses on complete Central Florida weather coverage for WFTV viewers and News 96.5 listeners.
Summary of Features:
- There is a new radar in the weather app that matches the radar found on other digital platforms and also includes future radar to provide you with a likely path and outlook of storms. The radar has 250 meter resolution, the highest available.
- New tracks - We added earthquakes and storm tracks as layers in the radar. Now you can track the location and magnitude of earthquakes as well for storms the speed, direction and type. Tap the “storm symbols” icon in the radar to see the list.
- Push alerts are FREE for more than 25 alert types including everything from tornado warnings to winter storm warnings and tropical storm alert types.
- Now you can scroll through the home screen to access most of what you need or want on one tab.

WFTV Channel 9 Weather Reviews

To many scam advertisements for a new app!

with held...no need on

United States

The shear number ads placed on your app to fill space is rediculous. Most are flat out scams or misrepresention at best. There’s no place on a news app for these stupid ads. Example. Was getting a storm update ( hurricane) of all things… When I click the video a stupid window ad had redirected me to their site. Without my permission to boot. Sorry WFTV/disney I will no longer use any of your apps due to this unprofessional practice.

Bad site

Hard to actually click on the local news and weather with this busy screen. Too many options on one page

Not good

Lcadt118 on

Every time I click on an alert, the app opens and then immediately crashes. When I finally get it to work, there are so many ads and popups that it is worthless to use.

Disappointing unless you like ads not weather

I used to love this app and trusted what was provided. Now it’s nothing but advertisement galore. Weather at 23 hours old is not coverage you can count on. Very disappointing but it’s all about the money, not providing weather and news accurately anymore.

I always look @ the app. Give me peace and mind. “YOU ARE TOO BLESSED TOO BE STRESSED” say the LORD’s PRAYER and he will do the rest. Keep up the good work bless you all. Julia Drummond Cocoa, Fl,

I have been watching Channel 9 since Marla Weech and Danny Trainor days! I couldn’t even IMAGINE watching another news crew! The app for weather is my new best friend! This summer was easily planned because of the interactive weather radar. Planning days ahead, just as easy. I am so grateful to be in Central Florida where I have what I feel is my very own personal news team! Thank you Channel 9. From a loyal viewer of 30+ years, Courtney D!

Most Inaccurate Weather People

It’s impossible to plan a day with WFTV or this app. The weather team isn’t even consistent with themselves. Every broadcast and different meteorologist says something different and this app is just about as inconsistent as they are.

Takes too long to load up and and there are too many ads before the weather report. Fox 35 storm center is much quicker to access
