Now stand at your vista and hold your iPhone up and have all those mountains labeled for you! As you turn, the scene on your iPhone turns with you. Mountains to the north - hills to the west - all are now labeled for you. With the "Live-View" option, WhatMountain will draw mountain profiles and names over a real-time images. You can also enter the name or latitude/longitude of a place and see the view from that mountain top. Or load up a photograph, and use the GPS information in the jpeg file. It does take data, but you can download it from the US Geological Survey before you head to the mountain. It displays vistas from anyplace in Canada, Mexico and the United States - including all 50 states, Puerto Rico & the Virgin Islands. ## WhatMountain Screenshots - [Screenshot 1](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple125/v4/d7/8d/a0/d78da096-784f-e359-ca50-72662a6b26e9/98945c8c-abd0-4f52-b8b6-687b6ac8e693_iPhone11ScreenCapture.png/2688x1242.png) - [Screenshot 2](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource115/v4/56/82/38/568238a7-1c70-b641-3eeb-e8a8b189cf6f/518b4dd9-5ac6-40eb-8e20-35ccc552fb2e_iPhone11ScreenCapture.png/2688x1242.png) - [Screenshot 3](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple125/v4/d5/70/88/d57088d5-1da8-54b7-badd-94b5ef7b79b6/5a506f83-8471-48cb-85af-aebdc9a1cf72_iPhone11ScreenCapture.png/2688x1242.png) - [Screenshot 4](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple115/v4/61/b7/da/61b7da4c-83f2-2afb-ee1b-f6fa398bf02b/22d94f25-2af4-424b-ada5-b2a1be3b5190_iPhone11ScreenCapture.png/2688x1242.png) - [Screenshot 5](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple115/v4/28/46/c5/2846c5fe-7435-4562-76b7-b363fea14cea/4e8b3c7a-f429-4a67-97e7-99044e6d9d98_iPhone11ScreenCapture.png/2688x1242.png) - [Screenshot 6](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple125/v4/3d/12/d6/3d12d649-26e8-9c77-8c1a-d4445d3dbcca/f3d64b5a-d1ce-4414-b513-5d0bbd20d3ab_iPhone11ScreenCapture.png/2688x1242.png) ## WhatMountain Rating Breakdown in United States - 5 stars: 2 (50%) - 4 stars: 0 (0%) - 3 stars: 0 (0%) - 2 stars: 0 (0%) - 1 stars: 2 (50%) ## WhatMountain Reviews in United States ### *---- "Broken" Unfortunately the app seems to be just plain broken. The download of map data never finished, selecting new downloads is broken (map clicks are off by a lot). The UI is broken too, with buttons and labels falling off the screen. Unfortunate, seems useful if it worked -- TheOtherBeaker, 2025-10-25 ### *---- "Horrible useless app" This hasn’t worked at all. Frustrating and useless. -- Annie Noneya, 2025-04-16 ### ***** "So it recognizes mountains but can it recognize hills?" So I’m wondering if this app will recognize hills basically by showing a hill or pointing at a hill sign marking it? Cuz I am going to Britton Hill Florida’s Highest Point this weekend or next weekend well I’m just so curious to see so can you answer me? -- erishaalb, 2020-10-28 [View all WhatMountain reviews and detailed analytics on AppTail](https://app.apptail.io/signup?utm_campaign=ai-crawl&utm_content=reviews) ## WhatMountain In-App Purchases | Item | Price | |------|-------| | Upgrade2.0LivePhoto | $0.99 | ## Apps Similar to WhatMountain - [Summit Seeker](https://apptail.io/app/summit-seeker-JiKd/united-states) - [Elevation For Real](https://apptail.io/app/elevation-for-real-PhDe/united-states) - [iHikeGPS : Classic Topo Maps](https://apptail.io/app/ihikegps-classic-topo-maps-qcpg/united-states) - [Trail Explorer](https://apptail.io/app/trail-explorer-KyLi/united-states) - [Hikers Assistant Plus](https://apptail.io/app/hikers-assistant-plus-IALi/united-states) - [Peakist](https://apptail.io/app/peakist-sCRp/united-states) - [Mammoth Mountain Map](https://apptail.io/app/mammoth-mountain-map-dbGv/united-states) - [iState](https://apptail.io/app/istate-FRlw/united-states) - [Altitude : My Elevation & GPS](https://apptail.io/app/altitude-my-elevation-gps-FKHw/united-states) ## WhatMountain Available In - [United States](https://apptail.io/app/whatmountain-aVre/united-states) - [Argentina](https://apptail.io/app/whatmountain-aVre/argentina) - [Australia](https://apptail.io/app/whatmountain-aVre/australia) - [Brazil](https://apptail.io/app/whatmountain-aVre/brazil) - [Canada](https://apptail.io/app/whatmountain-aVre/canada) - [Switzerland](https://apptail.io/app/whatmountain-aVre/switzerland) - [Chile](https://apptail.io/app/whatmountain-aVre/chile) - [China](https://apptail.io/app/whatmountain-aVre/china) - [Colombia](https://apptail.io/app/whatmountain-aVre/colombia) - [Czechia](https://apptail.io/app/whatmountain-aVre/czechia) - [Denmark](https://apptail.io/app/whatmountain-aVre/denmark) - [Algeria](https://apptail.io/app/whatmountain-aVre/algeria) - [Ecuador](https://apptail.io/app/whatmountain-aVre/ecuador) - [United Kingdom](https://apptail.io/app/whatmountain-aVre/united-kingdom) - [Ireland](https://apptail.io/app/whatmountain-aVre/ireland) - [Japan](https://apptail.io/app/whatmountain-aVre/japan) - [South Korea](https://apptail.io/app/whatmountain-aVre/south-korea) - [Kazakhstan](https://apptail.io/app/whatmountain-aVre/kazakhstan) - [Malaysia](https://apptail.io/app/whatmountain-aVre/malaysia) - [Pakistan](https://apptail.io/app/whatmountain-aVre/pakistan) - [Poland](https://apptail.io/app/whatmountain-aVre/poland) - [Romania](https://apptail.io/app/whatmountain-aVre/romania) - [Saudi Arabia](https://apptail.io/app/whatmountain-aVre/saudi-arabia) - [Thailand](https://apptail.io/app/whatmountain-aVre/thailand) - [Taiwan](https://apptail.io/app/whatmountain-aVre/taiwan) - [United Arab Emirates](https://apptail.io/app/whatmountain-aVre/united-arab-emirates) - [South Africa](https://apptail.io/app/whatmountain-aVre/south-africa) --- ## About AppTail [AppTail](https://apptail.io) is a mobile app intelligence platform providing app analytics, ASO (App Store Optimization) tools, keyword tracking, competitor analysis, revenue estimates, and review monitoring for iOS App Store apps.
