Used to like this - but it has stopped working on my phone (at least). Tried deleting and reinstalling but zilch, nowt, nothing. Just goes round and round in an enigmatic fashion.
I am disappointed that the app does not appear to include 100% of generation sources. It appears to include Renewables, Nuclear and Hydrocarbons/Gas, but does not attempt to analyse Imported Electricity. The South East of England and London will get much of their power from the six 900MWe PWR units in Gravelines (Dunkerque), France, just across the Channel. Nuclear generated power is transmitted across the Channel in an interconnector. But the total off-peak power sources are a mysterious +/- 60%. So what happened to the other 40%? Like another reviewer, I find it inconvenient to get up in the middle of the night to put on a fast spin, then again to load the tumble drier, when in fact it is likely there is little gas used if any after 10pm and before 6am weekdays. So I just use my common sense, switch on dishwasher and start the washing machine at 10pm and load the tumble drier at 6am.
App seems ok, only used briefly so far. Disappointed that hydropower not included in the mix.
Currently isn’t displaying predictions in SE Fix it please 🙏 Be nice if there was a in app feedback form
Great that we know best times to use our appliances with high footprint
Lovely UI, compared to the NG ESO app. But as another user points out, all one really needs isa widget with the next plug in time ( and possibly a green light for low carbon now ). I’ll stick with that, as it has the link to the detailed forecast, which lets me make granular decisions ie 5% decrease if I run the dishwasher in an hour, even if it’s not low carbon.
The app works okay, but the people behind it need to do more work on their scheduling. You can set an alert only to find that it’s been moved by anything up to 24 hours from that time: When an alert pops up, I always have to open the app just to check that it’s still valid. Think the guys at National Grid need to invest in some better computers which will predict the times more accurately and consistently!
Should it?
I could not run the app past the initial setup pages
